Depends how you define break really. For me the "Christmas break" is whatever days I am not working. Impossible to answer anything but "no" to that.

If you're going to work, at least make it a pet project or hobby that doesn't feel like work at all.

The poll should ask for your nationality as well -- I'm guessing the American contingent would be much higher! I'm American, but not working -- your mind and body needs breaks in order to perform well. You may think you're leaving money on the table by not working this weekend, but how much money will you be leaving on the table once you burn out and your productivity drops off -- most likely during a non-holiday when everyone expects you to be at 100%?

    Exactly Mark,

No one bothers you during the holidays! You can actually get some work done. ;)

You mean some people DON'T work over Christmas? :) At least it's nice and quiet and easier to think than in a busy office. Merry Christmas UX peeps wherever you are!

There's money to be made over the holiday. While we're vacationing in Connecticut there's still a lot of work that can be done and I intend to do it all.

some kind of companies demand more attention than others; specially those who research Word of Mouth.
Happy Holidays to Smashing Magazine crew. I'm a huge fan of your work.
