Are you comfortable with the idea of automatically being added to the UK donor list, as presumed consent?

    The system we have is plain english. If you want to donate you register with the Organ Donation card system.
    If you don't want to donate, you do nothing. It has been in place so long we all know how it works.

    When my son died at 28 from a stroke and heart attack, he was not registered so after some hours i was asked if i would consent.

    I said ''God gave him to me perfect and complete and that is how he will return to him''

    There were looks and a second attempt to talk to me again. I said ''Dont go there'' and they eventually got the message left me. I didnt want to see him being wheeled away to be cut open, I needed to see all the tubes and machines removed so I could see my son at peace and say goodbye to him.

    There is no love like a mothers love, and if my son wanted to donate, he would have registered.

    I saw with distress last night on the NHS site for Bladder Cancer the following statement;

    REMOVAL OF ORGANS AFTER DEATH

    UNLESS YOU HAVE SAID YOU DO NOT WANT PARTS OF YOUR BODY USED FOR RESEARCH OR DONATED TO OTHERS AFTER YOUR DEATH, WHOEVER IS LEGALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BODY CAN ALLOW ORGANS TO BE DONATED. THIS WILL USUALLY BE YOUR PERSONAL REPRESENTATIVE. BEFORE ORGANS CAN BE REMOVED FROM THE BODY, MEDICAL STAFF MUST BE CERTAIN THAT BRAIN DEATH HAS TAKEN PLACE, AND A DEATH CERTIFICATE MUST BE ISSUED.

    IS THIS 'BIG BROTHER'' DICTATING OUR DEATHS AS WELL AS OUR LIVES??
    THERE IS NO LAW IN PLACE AS YET AS FAR AS I HAVE RESEARCHED.
    IT SMACKS OF ''LEGALISED BODY PART THEFT''.
    I HAVE HAD SERIOUS ILLNESS FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS, UNTREATED.
    I NOW WILL GET TATTOOED ON MY BACKSIDE AND STOMACH GIVING MY INTENTIONS. THIS IS SCAREY.
