I tried to vote this morning (Feb.6) but apparently the poll wasn't open. Now, at 9pm CST, it won't let me vote because it says that the poll is closed. How lame is that?

Odd to have a showdown between films from such totally different genres... Shouldn't you be pitting films from the same genre? The choice here is 'Godfather', hands down... but put 'Terms of Endearment' against a similar movie type (and I dare not say 'chick-flick', at the risk of being politically incorrect... or slapped silly by my wife), and I might be voting for it.

The Godfather was not this good. If the final is The Godfather vs. The Godfather Part II I'm going to be so disappointed. I think Terms of Endearment was a witty romance and I honestly think this poll should be a lot closer. I can see why it would beat Terms of Endearment in a pool but I don't think The Godfather was overall that great. That all being said, I think the most important cultural point this poll makes is that the history of The Academy Awards is that of omission. Not only does this poll not highlight Rebecca, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, No Country for Old Men or Deer Hunter but it shows that The Academy Awards altogether missed achievements in cinema such as 2001: A Space Odyssey and Rear Window. Not that the chosen 16 don't represent what you were going for and not blaming Time Magazine at all. It's just an interesting poll in itself and, personally, I will be pulling for Annie Hall. Thanks!

There is no actual comparision. Godfather picture is way ahead. This picture speaks thousands words in itself....
