Tools and kitchen appliances -- Craftman and Kenmore! Craftsman tools are Made in the USA and the quality can't be beat. Throw in the lifetime warranty and it's a no brainer.

Sears is a great place to get just about everything. I have heard they also support the military where my son and other family members are serving.

I chose the "others" category due to the fact that I would like to have a couple of excellent quality small appliances. In particular, I'm wanting a good, reliable, and, durable electric can opener. Due to limited space, I truly need a can opener that is mountable to the bottom of the cabinent or one that is made to maximize a small kitchen counter area.I also want a good, reliable, and, durable hand held vac. I call them all DUSTBUSTERS but that is just a product brand name. I do believe that there are several different brands and types of these available. As always, I want these small appliances to be easy to use and of the space saving variety. So, when your out there christmas shopping for your friends and relatives, go ahead and check out those small appliances. Does anyone on your list need a space saving small appliance? If so, I reccomend going out to your local sears store (or evenKmart now) and checking out just what all there is in the small appliance section of your store. Oh, and to all those people out there who have resorted to passing out gift cards. . . . . bah humbug!!! Gift cards are too impersonal and too generic. It is not something that requires ANY thought at all, so that mjeans the saying "it's the thought that counts", is not true for you!!! What thoughts of a person could possibly have been in your mind?? Did you spend a lot of time picking out which card design to purchase? Maybe you looked at the gift cards for hours just trying to make up your mind? My advice is to actually think about the person you are buying for and then go out and pick out something that they would like to have but have never received. That is what GIVING is really all about. It really is "the thought that counts".

Have shopped at Sears for many years. Have purchased appliances, clothing and especially tools. I have given tools to my two sons and purchased many for myselt. That is my weakness. I wish I had the time to use the ones I have purchased. I have found the quality to be exceptional. I shop at K-Mart but cannot get used to seeing Craftsman tools there. I just feel that I get better tools and deals at my local Sears store.

What does getting presents have to do with where you like to shop? Noone asked you where you like to shop. Why is everyone kissing up to the stores, like they care?

I prefer to give and receive cash or gift cards, they enable everyone to get what they want instead of being 'stuck' with another ugly sweater or useless knick knack.

Tools are the gifts that keep on giving, the ones that last. With the right tools you can make anything in the other categories (jewelery, electronics, clothes and oh yes, lots of "other"). Tools are what brought us "down from the trees" a million years ago and one of the few things that keep us from having to climb back up in there. Tools rule! (I'd type more, but my knuckles hurt from dragging them on the ground all day.)
