"Absolutely!! using facebook as a business platform is one of the best way for maximum reach. but how many of the total users of facebook, in India (especially in India) uses business profile? and for what purpose?
manipulation of social medias has become a modern trend in india. so, i personally don't think Libraries should promote or aid using of social media (Facebook) as a busniess tool. cause, today facebook is just used for trolling and manipulating the society.

In my opinion it quite a backward step to think of banning Facebook in Libraries! Libraries should be thinking of utilizing and maximizing such social media networks to promote libraries and their services because it is the single largest platform where billions of people around the world come together. Thousands of libraries around the world has jumped into using these social media to reach out to young adults, children and adults in equal measure and have found it successful. While libraries around the world are preparing policies and procedures for the effective use of social medias, banning them in India is absolutely ridiculous and a primitive step. We need to think of innovative ways to reach out to people to promote libraries and reading and I am one such Librarian that has already tasted success in doing so. Please do have ban social media in libraries, start promoting proper use of them in libraries.
