Just goes to show how stupidly shallow most people are.

Not trying to sway the result at all, with your picture of a human, made of colourful pills are you?

    How very biased and unscientific.

20o+ human studies published in 85+ peer-reviewed international medical journals out of which 96+ are FULL TEXT out of which 94 are PDF which can be downloaded at http://drnancymalik.wordpress.com/article/scientific-research-in-homeopathy/

They call it Conventional Medicine because it has been proven to work. If it's referred to as Alternative Medicine, that means it has either never been proven to work or has been proven to not work. When Alternative Medicine is proven to work, they call it Medicine.

I prefer Traditional European Medicine. Bloodletting and leeches for me! TEM is the way to go.

Medicine is medicine. You don't use a screwdriver or a peice of Lego to hammer in a nail, why would you use distilled water to cure an ailment?

  • Rod - 6 years ago

I like conventional medicine because it is the only one that actually works.

When I fall ill I prefer to treat myself medicine proven to be efficacious by multiple controlled, double-blind studies.

That's for illnesses I can treat myself though. When I get something I can't identify, I will go to a trained and licenced M.D. to figure out what I have, and the best ways to treat it (with evidence-based medicine of course).

I'd love to see some double-blind studies done with the remedies used by those who chose "Homeopathic" as their answer. It's just water, people.

Thank you, Nancy. Acupuncture could possibly be included in 'Chinese medicine' and I think although the needles are applied from outside the body, acupuncturists would argue that it is definitely 'internal' medicine as it has an effect on the energy meridians which are very deep inside the body. Anyhow, that is a different discussion! Best wishes, Helen

Thank you Helen for your response.
I agree it's not always OR but many times AND that's why I used the term "prefer" in the question
Based upon your recommendation, I have included TCM as one option
I have not included accupuncture because I am using the word "medicine" in the question by which I meant internal medicine. Accupuncture is no doubt a very helpful healing modality in many disease conditions.
    Regards

It is not always one OR the other but sometimes one AND another, e.g. homeopathy and herbalism work well together. Ayurvedic medicine is very powerful and natural so might be a first or second choice, alongside homeopathy, for someone who chooses natural medicines. There are others which should also be on the list: TCM, acupuncture, etc.
