Round 2 happens to take place on Mothers Day, so what could we do to encourage more ladies to race?

I am a lady and I race - don't start patronizing me with flowers and pink fluffy stuff!

Our races are shorter, so it should be cheaper to enter (but keep the prizes the same for men and women!)

The only time I show a competitive nature is in the January sales!

I like to ride, but I've no interest in racing. Maybe you should rebrand as the Midlands XC Sportive Series?

I'd prefer a women's only race. All the men just get in the way out on the course!

I'm as fast as any man, so ditch the male / female split altogether!

I have a lot of sporty friends. They will come on an mtb fun ride once per yr. But will not race. My thoughts are:

1. Equipment. They do not own half decent bikes
2. Technical assist: they do not understand how bikes work...
3. Fear: they are happy to enter various running events but seem to think that mtb racing us much more serious and out of their league.
4. Cost

Well they are my thoughts. I drive my friends insane trying to get them to race :( they call me a Jehovah witness...
