Not true. Ron Paul would eliminate 5 federal bureaucracies which produce nothing but poor top-down management, making americans worse off, and wasting massive amounts. Take the Department of Education, since that seems to be the most controversial: Please look at its track record. It has not existed for very long, it functions to eliminate state-based education innovation through its regressive centralized management, has not improved school standards in any way and has only caused children to hate school because of, for instance, 'standardized testing' forced on schools through 'no child left behind' and 'race to the top', benefiting schools which game the system at the expense of schools which take interest purely in effective education, from one side of the educational spectrum to the other.

I recommend you investigate issues before regurgitating the half-baked slogans of simple-minded talking-heads. Ron Paul does not often have their support, often, but he has mine, and the support of many peer-reviewed and scholarly educational organizations and grassroots student organizations. Ron Paul has their support because he listens to researchers and investigates outcomes and the logical reasons for them, while other candidates are memorizing talking points and going to photo ops.
Most politicians will say only things which sound true on first glance and are simply expressed. Ron Paul will say things which challenge false, yet popular assumptions. That is honest and political suicide. My vote is not for the political pony-show. My vote is for Ron Paul.

OMG i hit no because i thought it said illegal.

@PSA False! Ron Paul is a libertarian, why is he even in the Republican primary is beyond me. Furthermore, he is probably one of the worst candidates for the presidency since Ralph Nader. Before you sell that hivemind Paul 2012 attitude go do some research on what he would actually do if he was president, get rid of EVERYTHING.

People who think marijuana should be illegal apparently lack the opposable thumbs required to operate the internets.

@misty stinson based on my research i agree with that.

@James Davidson: There's one Republican candidate who would end the War on Drugs. Ron Paul. Is ending the Drug War worse than the policies of our current Democratic disgrace?

  • James Davidson - 12 years ago

The article is correct all the way through, but don't expect change. We the people only think we have a voice but this is a trumpt up, fake democracy. In many respects America has lost it's way. I thought Pres Obama would be a leading light but he is a flicker. Any Republican is worse. I despare!

I think it's a little more complicated than just the war on drugs. At the same time the war on drugs began, there was a dramatic increase in the privatization of prisons. The corporations that run the prisons and the lobbyists for police and prison organizations need prisoners to exist. Legalizing marijuana would mean a loss of business. It's ALWAYS about the money.

Cannabis should be legal for all to use, grow, have, eat, smoke or vaporize. A plant, that is non toxic and has never killed anyone in 10,000 years, but has positive effects to your health that include, stopping tumors from growing, stopping Alzhemier plaques from forming on the brain, and Lessions on the brain from MS... and many more. Everyone needs cannabis to help their own Endocannabinoid System run. You are suppose to make your own, but with today's conventional foods lacking the proper nutrients, eating fake foods and fast foods, and not exercising, there is a large number of people who are Cannabinoid Deficient, which causes disease. Learn the Truth. Free the Leaf!
