    I enjoy lucid dreaming. If I wasn't tired at all, all the better., but I'd still opt for at least 3-4 hours for the equivalent of lucid dreaming every night.

    I read "safely" as meaning "without losing the essential/practical benefits". In such as case, seems like the only reason to sleep would be because you liked doing it.

    I must also observe that the results of this poll are mostly a commentary on the kinds of people who frequent this site..

    Even if sleep isn't necessary, it would probably still make you feel better and be more productive. Afterall, it's designed to give the body some time to relax and rejuvinate itself. Besides, it's a good way to pass the day when you're feeling really unwell.

    Safely eliminated? Then I'd opt out! Productivity^^ This would be the same as--If you, as a blind person could be safely be given the gift of sight, would you choose to see? Duh!
