the framers of the constitutioun should decide, And I feel they did when they made the model of the U.S. In God we trust. They were devote Christain and they made it very clear who and what governs this Country. Obama and his entire cabnit are shredding the faith that has governed this great nation for over 400 years by tring to force same sex mariage on this nation. Congress has already let popular opinion take the the word God out the pledge of allegiance. And for those who do not know.... Obama stood iin front of middle eastern delegates in Saudi Arabia and told them we the the U.S. are not a christion nation nor muslim nation, but a nation of citizens, who have faih in them selfs. This just six months into his election. So what do you expect from some who goes to church like he believes in god but says another...sound like he's double minded. He also turn down jerusalem when they asked for military aid, which no other president has done. how is GOD susposed to cover us with this man in office. geroge washington told us to always give aid to zion, and this man refuses. so who did we realy put in office.
It is my belief that marriage was created by God. However, the question here is "Who should define marriage?" Since this divisive topic has far more to do with "rights" with regard to Insurance, Estate tax, Hospital visitation, Social Security Benefits, Pensions, and even family leave, I believe the state has a stake in establishing legislation that provides civil guidance for its constituents.
Rather than argue points about the picture of marriage that I believe to be most in line with the model created by God, I will acknowledge that today's societal challenges have produced social dynamics regarding how we care for one another that still require civility rather than hate or fear.
Marriage should be defined by God. Then once we've learned what God has to say then we should hold on to his principles as best as we can.
