I'd have to say it's fair. It took me a minute of contemplation to reach this conclusion but finally I decided that the design of the paper airplane is what's really being tested, not the strength or skill of the thrower. The fact that the paper airplane had enough structural integrity to hold up after being thrown by a quarterback is kind of a testament to the designers skill. I say all paper airplane world record seekers ought to have a ringer. Let's see just how far they can take it.

If it wasn't against the rules, it's fair.

As a Rotarian, I believe in and try to follow what is called "The Four Way Test" in my daily interactions with others:

    Is it the truth?
Is it fair to all concerned?
Will it build good will and better friendships?
Is is beneficial to all concerned?

IMHO not having the builder/designer throw the paper airplane fails three out of four portions of the test...
