Phillip Phillips should have won hands down. He was consistant throughout the competition. Jessica Sanchez has a career cut out for her. She is a phenomenal singer but in all fairness she should not have been there at the end since the voting public voted her off. She was in the bottom three on several occasions. I do not agree with the "saves". If this is a vote by the people then leave it at that. Also, the judges should critique the performance period. They should not give their opinion as to saying things like " YOU ARE THE WINNER' ' YOU ARE THE ONE THAT WILL BE STANDING AT THE END' etc. They shouldn't lead the public vote. That is not their job and it is not fair.

since the beginning of the contest , Phillip Phillips was my favorite and i kept saying " this guy is going to be the next American Idol." .ohhhhh.....i knew it, i said to myself, after he was proclaimed!
i just don't understand why some think he is arrogant. he is a very simple guy. i feel sorry he had to suffer from kidney pains but he went through the contest without showing out his discomforts. hope he gets well soon. i will pray for your recovery Phillips..

I've come to the conclusion that Idol is very likely "fixed." I suspected as much before, but all these mediocre men winning when a phenomenal talent takes second place, or gets hacked earlier, is just ridiculous. Phillip is a good wedding reception singer. That's it. That is his league. Jessica can wow any audience. She knows her music and she sings with authority. This kind of disparity is what is making Idol less popular than other shows like "The Voice." At least at the voice, we see coaches and leaders who can take some responsibility for the decisions. At Idol, it is all decided by some obscure, shadowy group of voters by a process of which we can never be certain. I think I am done with Idol after this.
American Idol needs to change. The mega voting gives too much influence to the teenage girls who will do the "redial" on their cell phones until they get bored. I picked Phillip as the winner on my facebook. on March 2. He fit the profile best.

I have a prediction. In three years, people will say Phillip who? , but Jessica will be a star. Phillip is the new Taylor Hicks, unique but marginally talented and forgettable.

Not only was he incredibly talented as a singer, wrote his own songs, but, he sang through incredible pain from a very serious kidney disorder. He will have immediate kidne surgery. Let's all wish Phillip good luck and best wishes through his surgery and a speedy recovery!

I certainly don't think Philip is in any way arrogant. I think he is shy and insecure in group situations. But his music is fantastic and I'm glad he won. He deserved it. If you want to talk arrogant look at Joshua
