Kobe is the 8th best player and Tim is the 9th best player. Both are nearly a tie,but I have Kobe up by like a centimeter.

To many idiots on here talking about Stats, just watch both them play. Kobe Braynt IS the 2nd best player to play this game based just off ability and knowledge alone, add in a will to win rivaled only by Jordan.

Kobe's offensive skill set is unmatched. He will post you up, he will take the mid range, he will shoot the 3 , and arguably has the best footwork the NBA has ever seen.

Duncan is a top 7 player all time. Kobe is not top 10. Duncan has had the better career and is the best since MJ. No contest

I dont want to take away from kobe bryants greatness. He is no doubt a winner, fighter, and a smart basketball player. However, I dont feel that he is/was able to adjust with his decline in his carreer, and the ability and selfnesness to let others "shine". Tim Duncan on the other hand, couldve very much fallen to the same trap as kobe in order to get big numbers, fame, etc. However, he was able to put his ego aside, and teach while playing great at the same time. For that, I MUST pick TIM DUNCAN.

Ah...Kobe has five rings, not six. And, there's a very good chance Tim will tie him this year. I'm a lifelong Laker fan, but Tim gets my vote for being a man on the court and for off court demeanor. I'd trade Kobe for Tim in a second.

    Kobe 6 rings.
    Duncan 4 rings.
And I am a Kobe hater. But I have to give him that much.
For the record, Shaq 4 rings.

This is right where it should b 50/50. Kobe has been surrounded by talent but so has Duncan and do has every great player ever, so that argument is bull. My vote goes to Kobe because of how bad he always wants it. I kno Timmy does too but I like to visually see players want it more than the other guy.

Take this poll outside of LA and you will find that Duncan is viewed as ultimate team player, and hence the better.

Or, ask it this way: how many titles would Bryant have earned in San Antonio If Duncan was not there.

In my point of view, definitely Duncan is superior! You have to take into account that Kobe has been always surrounded for a lot of stars and he has not been the leader in all the seasons (such as in the O Neal's seasons)
