Great post that got me thinking. I like making things and am often surfing websites looking for projects to do. It doesn't seem to matter whether the projects are knitting or crochet, I like both as much as each other and find them equally as absorbing when I'm making something.

I prefer to knit. I learned to crochet first. I'm fast at it. I crocheted for many years before really learning to knit. Even though I was crocheting, I was always "lusting" after knitting but wondering if I could really do it well. My first attempt as a child was a bomb, it took forever to knit a tiny piece and I basically hated to wait that long. About 4 years ago I took a leap of faith and purchased a book on knitting socks and very slowly and carefully worked through the "class" sock, all the while reading some basic knitting instructions on the side. I triumphed and the rest is history. I hardly crochet at all now, though I have recently considered "Irish crochet". I knit all the time, every chance I get. I recently learned how to speed knit like the lady in the genius world book of records (though I'm not as fast as her), so my knitting is coming together allot quicker. In the last few weeks I finished a pair of wool long sleeve gloves, a pair of baby booties, a summer top in cotton, 1 purse, 3 mini purses, an amigurumi doll and....(well, I may have forgotten something) Ha! blame it on my age. I have grandchildren too. Ha! ;)
