Do you think Gov. Hickenlooper should enact a statewide fire ban?

I support a fire ban. As a home owner in the mountains for the past 11 years, I have lived through too many close calls at my house from forest fires due to careless campers, ranchers and home owners. While this one was not caused by humans (responsible or irresponsible), many of the other fires in my area have been. Of course the whole issue is moot since the forest service does not have the personnel assigned to effectively enforce a fire ban.

You can put a ban out all u want but don't mean people will abide by it! We also cant control lightning!! people need to be careful camping and make sure they put the fire out when they are done!

I agree with Chris about the camp fires because what's camping without a fire. Why punish everyone from what lighting did!

I agree with Chris...as a responible camper myself that would just ruin tha whole point and the fun for the kids. Lightening happens!

Also, irresponsible people who are incapable of properly managing a campfire will ignore the ban anyway. A statewide ban only hurts responsible campers.

I just want to point out this fire was started by lightning. Banning campfires statewide is putting on a bandaid and not addressing the the real issue.
