David Stern came off like ANYTHING BUT THE COMMISSIONER OF THE NBA.

Stunningly immature. Stunningly weak arguments. And stunningly rude.

    Dear NBA,

WAKE UP. YOU'RE LOSING FANS. AND APPARENTLY, IT'S STARTING FROM THE TOP.

    yuck.

Of course that question needs to be asked. David Stern needs to answer the question and not sidestep the issue. The classless way David Stern answered Jim Rome's questions should be reason enough to penalize David Stern. The fine should be substantial. There should also be an apology to Jim Rome. The Lakers probably spoke to David Stern in a similar fashion and was the reason the Chris Paul trade was shut down by David Stern who obviously holds grudges. David Stern probably will never speak to Jim Rome on the air.

I am no fan of this commissioner in any way, shape or form, but I'll side with him on this one. Rome should have never asked that question. Even if the "fix was in" and Stern knew about it, there's no way he would acknowledged it anyways, so in the end all you have is a contentious back and forth, which DOES make for great copy, and Rome knows it.

Say what you want to say about Rome and his controversy etc. but this is absolutely a question that needed to be brought up and Stern as usual cannot handle the heat because he is a shifty and also apparently shady person by this interview. Stern is not an idiot I am sure he expected a question like that to be asked that is the first thing I thought when the hornets were awarded the first pick. The Charlotte bobcats only won 7 damn games last year, the hornets however won 21! That's three times as many games as the bobcats and they get the first pick totally mind boggling. This is a bigger fix than the Pacquio fight but never the less you can see where Stern's dishonesty comes in to play when in this audio he talks about the liquidation of the hornets. Why wouldnt the shisty Stern drive up the bidding for the hornets when he had the opportunity to fix the lottery and draft the best player Anthony Davis to come in an build a new team around. This short fat heeb bastard should be ousted immediately. I have never understood how sports commissioners could never really be fired or at least voted in or out like out own democracy. The NBA an other professional sports should be no different, lets get this crook out of the NBA for good!!

one of the things you expect out of people like jim rome, is to ask questions that we don't have the opportunity to ask. i also believe that the "fix is in", in more sports than boxing. i remember reading in a blog from i believe a retired cia agent, "that everybody knows that the big games are fixed". i believe he was talking about the intelligence community, and he was talking about all major sports.

The flopping comment was awsome...way to go Rome!!!

To make Rome sound sympathetic, you must be a complete a__. Stern is a classess bully. Most overrated sports official of all time. He had a ref own up to the fix being in and he doesn't think it a worrthy question? Would he answer Bob Costas that way. Bully and schmuck.

Good Job keeping your cool Mr. Rome, I was upset just listening to David Stern, making personal attacks against you, and I felt defensive and it wasn't even me. I can't believe this guy is supposed to be a professional, but he can't answer a simple question about if the draft is fixed. To bad the fans can't vote him out.

David Stern is a (wanna be) Napoleanic punk, period.

    LinsaneinLA: Amen to that.

The way aim framed the question, it seemed like a softball lob to allow Stern to explain it was a valid process. Instead of simply pointing out the verification process and how open to public scrutiny the lottery was, he made his own controversy by attacking the reporter.
