Do you think the teacher deserved to lose his job for showing the snuff video to students?

Wow I can't beieve that someone actually believes that this is a censorship issue !?

Guy, censor graphic nudity in school ( or in public ), sure, understandable.. to a degree ..
But the question of censoring children to a terrible crime, goes with out saying !

Look, there is no way this can be spun that makes it OK to show this video to ANY ONE who is not viewing it from an investigation perspective.

No one should be privy to watching someone take his last breath, while some sick $*(@ is getting off on it. That poor victim, it should be a crime to even watch that video.

The post by "WhatIsTheMotive" hit the nail on the head.
How can ANYONE justify showing this clip to kids? What good could possibly come out of it ?

Whats the worst that could happen ? it only takes ONE immature 16 year old to think this is a cool way in which to be heard and recreate a similar crime to one of our loved ones.
These kids are in the process of developing as adults, their minds and persona are developing into what kind of person they will grow up to be.

Sure no malice was intended by the teacher, but kids go to school to learn, not to be exposed to one of the most horrific events to have happened in quebec in 20 years.

Out Education System is a Joke. They actually fired a well respected teacher for a lapse in judgement. No wonder our Youth's Intelligence is laughable. You have morons running the School Boards. A simple disciplinary action of suspension was all that was needed, not firing....I will never send any of my children to any school this School Board operates. The school officials are the ones who should be fired over this and not the teacher. We Need more teachers like this in our society that aren't afraid to give in to Censorship. It's decisions like this that everyone is loosing their freedoms. This is how it all starts. Next they will start banning any type of media device in the classroom to further try and 'disconnect' our youths from reality. I'm ashamed to call my self a Canadian, when you have morons in the justice department and Education system that believe in shielding our Adolescents from reality of the world. With all the social Media they are still trying to make everyone grow up in a bubble.

There is no educational value whatsoever in showing a video of an insane man slaughter an innocent, especially to a class of young adults whose psyche is developing. The killer is loving the fact that his evil doing lives on by those who are have no will, honor and respect for the victim and his family. Just because you have an impulse of morbid curiosity, does not make it right to satisfy the need by crossing the line and throwing your morals down the drain by viewing the act of madness. Desensitization of human nature is certainly in fast decline when people are standing up for the right to view a murder-crime by video. Imagine if it was your own son, brother, father, uncle who was the victim? Would you feel it was ok for everyone to relive this poor soul's horror just because they were able? Anyone who argues against the logic of this is cause for concern themselves. What a sad, scary messed up world!

This is as bad, or worse than showing child pornography to a classroom. He shouldn't have even considered it for a second.

The students have no say in this matter, until they are adults they are under the guidance of Parents and the school board.
I for one would have been horrified had my child seen this despicable video.
Not an iota of common sense was used by this teacher.

He is an adult and should know better. At what point do the students dictate what they should be allowed in to see in a classroom

It was a VERY stupid mistake this teacher made however a suspension would be the most punishment he deserves. The number of good teachers left in Quebec that students respect is only getting smaller. The fact that so many students are showing support of this young man should be sufficient to show that his intentions were not malicious. I hope he understands his wrong doing and that he is shown some leniency for his own sake and the students.
