What are your thoughts on the Tigers' big trade last month?

As a young man in 84, the best part was the homegrown talent mixed with the acquisitions, but Dombroski has consistently given our young talent away for very mediocre players, usually past their prime. Plus he traded the gritty guys (Inge) that help give a team character and heart. This team is horrible up the middle of the infield, no range and limited clutch hitting. This team needs to be reconstructed with a young infield and new corner outfielders, goodbye Infante, Perholta, Young and Bosch. And If not obvious, Dombroski needs to go, you ruined a potentially great year and wasted Verlander's year and cost us Turner and a great young catching prospect. Most great baseball teams also have great heart, and that comes from youthful, gritty players, not overpaid first basemen

I wouldn't be surprised if Turner has a forgettable career. He doesn't throw that hard (his strikeouts per innings pitched is not very high) and his success depends more on spotting his pitches than having great stuff. The word "potential" is so overused in all sports. In Infante, we got a reliable 2nd baseman that should hit in the .280-.290 range for seasons to come.

I think they could have got Infante for Brantly even up. I would not have traded the future (as still this year) Turner for Sanchez. Keep in mind that Sanchez will be. Free agent this winter. Not sure if he is worth trying to keep or not. If not, then we have lost a potential 15 year stud pitcher for nothing. I'm not sure that Turner and Smyly combined couldn't have done a good job as No. 5, then you also have them for the future. Sorry, Dave, didn't agree when you made the trade and certainly don't agree now.
