Ugh, you people. Rainbow Dash gets a bunch of votes, so it's clearly just a popularity contest? I didn't even vote for Dash and I can see plenty of reasons to vote for her costume other than 'Rainbow Dash!!!!!!!' Really, the Shadowbolt callback alone gives it plenty of points. I read a couple comments about how it was 'poorly put together' counting against it? I disagree - amongst the sea of perfectly-tailored costumes and Derpy, a slipshod-amateur work that was probably put together by, well, Dash herself, has more personality - in a poll like this about the best costume for a CARTOON character, that's also a positive, in its own way! She had a unique, interesting costume that was a callback! It's... basically very good! Even if you took Dash out of the equation, I think her costume would still be winning.
Even Grandpa-Starswirl-Twilight gets more votes then Scarecrow AJ... (°~°) Not even the colt with the shark on his plot is listed.

I love Fluttershy, but i wonder, what is she doing in this poll? It clearly says costume, happy that she's not winning, but saying she had a better costume than applejack? And where's derpy? This poll is a little messed up.

No mummified Lyra support, for shame everypony. Also, I don't like how we can only vote on the Mane 6 when there were(as mentioned) so many other great costumes.

People who are always saying "omg no1 likes applejak" are actually trying to say "I like Applejack because she's the least popular character". Would you rather us just vote for Applejack because Applejack gets no love? I'm not going to vote for someone I honestly don't want to vote for. Yes, this is a popularity contest, all polls are. I certainly liked Twilight's best. Starswirl has an awesome hat, and Twilight replicated it perfectly.
But we all know Luna had the best costume...
Like most polls, this has obviously turned into a popularity contest. I liked Applejack's best because it was subtle. Took me a few seconds to realize she was in a costume.
Twilight gets runner up because she obviously spent so much time on her cosplay.
I did like Pinkie's quite a bit, and she certainly got most into the spirit.
Spike's was okay. But as usual, I pretty well ignored him.
The other three really shouldn't have any votes. Dash's was freakin' awful. Rarity didn't make an appearance (yes, I know). And Fluttershy, while adorable, was not participating.

Applebloom's Bride of Frankenpony costume was so good I couldn't find her in the episode for quite a while.
Derpy's Paper Bag costume was definitely funniest costume.
Dash is, however, definitely in the spirit of the holiday.

I've always considered Dash's wearing of a Shadowbolt outfit to be an awesome (naturally) thing. Like she's saying "buck you" to the entity that was creating them (the entity that caused Luna to become Nightmare Moon, not Luna herself).
