Well, there's obviously no contest here, given the options.
I'd like to have a Changeling for a pet, since their easy to take care of. All you need to do is love them and they'll just feed off of it, so no need to buy him food. He'll probably won't do anything that would hurt you or anything that would make you stop loving him. They probably be pretty loyal if you love it enough. They can change to whatever you or it wants and that would be much cooler then most of those other because it can turn into those.
I chose pheonix, just because it's the only one that wouldn't kill me, destroy my home, or eat the neighborhood.

I don't know about calling them pets, but I'd take a dragon over a phoenix. Dragons can talk, fly you around, and in general kick tail and be awesome.
