Commendations, posted nationally, to My PM, Stephen Harper!

Mr. Harper, your meeting will demonstrate you are sincere and concerned, thank you!

I would vote that YES, there will be SOMETHING positive resulting over their meeting Jan.11.
AT LEAST, respect will be established between two citizens, regardless of status of each. BUT, these are not ordinary citizens, are they? Our PM, and Our Chief of Attawapiskat, are to meet in person, this is historic, believe it or not, because the meeting was called in plight, and Mr. Harper responded to her plight. THIS, is a national, ongoing Headline, that is now developing into a historic meeting! History, can hardly be recognized in the present, agreed?
I'm sure it wasn't easy for either party to have become, endure, and sacrifice themselves, however, into this historical, developing, relationship of sorts.
I am proud to be Canadian today, because this meeting renews the thoughts that, this IS the best nation for solving problems, and overcoming our differences, as multi cultural citizens.

It's not easy to balance such diversity, hats off to you ALL, for doing your best at acceptance!

We have come a long way with just these few steps that PM Harper is taking, he sets example for the country, and the voting public, that this is what is right, the right thing to do at least at the moment!
Compassion, is what Mr. Harper is bringing to that meeting, it's obvious, as well as a willingness to negotiate, OR advise.
Advice, and support, however, of course with The Minister of Aboriginal Affairs, may just be the best to offer, who knows?
Negotiate how it is spent, or negotiate how much is needed on an annual basis, or both, or advise on such, simple...no? It is far from simple, I'm sure. Decisions have to be made, sacrifices, with every regional budget, hello! Most of us will make mistakes in running our first business, Chief Spence is no exception.

So, maybe there is enough compensation given to Chief Spence to run her "business', maybe not. Either way, a comprimise will have to be made, or more, on one or more issues, be it infrastructure, or growth, or recreation, or different maintenance departments, etc., by one or both parties, inevitable. That is between PM Harper and Chief Spence though, not us, the rest of the citizens with a bunch of opinions.

I found the mentioning, of the fact that MOST Attawapiskatians never leave, or a VERY huge number, return to their Home, after gaining education elsewhere...interesting, at least. For a place portrayed as negatively as it is, there seems to be an overwhelming sense of community developed in almost EACH and EVERY band member...strong enough to keep them together, or have them return. In fact, some members feel they have let the community down, after departing. So, sustainability is needed in this community to accomodate non-migrators, and returning migrators. As a community grows, it will need more of everything, who and when, and how it is going to be paid may need to be negotiated...

I am glad that Chief Spence is elated about her meeting with PM Harper.
I am glad that PM Harper has decided to meet with Chief Spence.
I am glad to be witnessing history...positive history.

I wouldn't be surprised if one day, in our Museum of Canadian History, that this very story appears in its own place...not at all. In fact, I anticipate it.

Remember, fine, fellow citizens, there are always bigger things to be concerned about than ourselves, ty. Happy New Year.
    Vic.

The only way things will get better if the natives on reserves choose good leaders and these leaders do not become corrupt. There is a reserve in sask. that is doing great and one in the Okanagan that has all their people employed. Chief Spence needs to look in her own back yard and use the money she receives wisely and stop the antics! Education and life skills in the children is very important.
