Here in Canada, it's not culturally acceptable to eat horse. The practical side of my brain thinks this is silly, why should it be any different than the beef, chicken and pork that I consume regularly, but then I remember Dusty, the trusty steed of my teens, with whom I shared many adventures. I wouldn't eat dog or cat either - I guess if I've made a pet of it I don't want to eat it. If I were starving it would be another matter altogether!
ABSOLUTELY NOT! I know I live in France and my husband's French but I've got to draw the line with some things. Pauvre chevaux!
