    My day to day expenses are much the same now as before the ban. I have had no reason to increase them because of the ban. My needs for new clothing have diminished, since I go out much less and have no desire or need to 'show off'. I no longer find any delight in going to restaurants. I like to go on holiday, but I already holidayed as much as I wish before the ban. I minimise tobacco purchase by growing my own as far as I can. I haven't got round to making my own wine, but it is on the horizon.

    I paid out a lot of money for some replacements on my home, but they needed to be done anyway. The difference is that I could afford to pay cash and therefore did not need to take out a loan.

    But all this excess of cash is no joy in itself. I miss the little pleasures of the pub and such.
