Who cares what his weight is?? Does it really MATTER?? Why don't they leave the man alone & focus on the issues facing not just this country, but the entire world, & what his stance is on THESE topics, instead of trifling BS such as this?

Leave the Governor alone! I like to see what these people and their families look like who keep harping at the Governor's weight. He is good-looking and he will find his own way of losing the weight.

Having fought a weight problem all my life I can tell you that the surest way to prevent an overweight person from losing weight is to harp at them about their weight problem. People like me and most probably Governor Christie self-medicate with food, so continually nagging at them will only make them eat more and gain more. So lay off the guy !!! I fail to see how his weight is anyones business but his own.

As for the chance that he might be President some day, President Taft was so fat he had to have a special bathtub made so he could bathe, and I don't recall him dying in office with a heart attack or stroke.

I think it is the Governor's business and a personal thing as to how much he weights. He is a wonderful caring person that will help everyone in everyway he can and that is the important part. He knows if he is overweight no one has to tell him anything about it. These TV doctors have a lot of nerve talking about him. They should take a look in the mirror at themselves. They have problems...they want to be in the limelight.

Making some one "an inspiration to the Nation" is setting them up for failure---remember Oprah parading around with fat on a wagon---does that mean the Nation should gain weight if our inspirations do? I'd rather have an overweight president than a dumb one & we survived that before.

Though the issue of weight is personal, it does matter. Governor Christie is the perfect person to address the problem of obesity in America. The example he would set would be an inspiration to many. Should it be an election factor? I tend to believe that many voters would consider his risk for a heart attack while in office. I know I would.

You can't push people into giving up junk food, cigarettes, alcohol, or whatever. They just push back. I didn't quit smoking until it finally sank in that it is a filthy habit and I would die...as did my husband. If Gov. Christie is serious about the next presidential election, he will lose weight. Let's give him some room (and some credit) to tackle this in his own way, and in his own time. He's a smart man. I'm an Indpendent voter and he's the only one I see that I would vote for in the next election.

Sorry, missed an r in Governor.

I believe his weight is between his Doctor and him and his family. Govenor Christie has noting to prove to me and while I am a Democrat ~ I think he is great.

I think that his weight should not be anyones business except his. I think that dr needs to publically apologize to him. Sometimes people just can look at food and gain weight. Does that dr actually think he enjoys being overweight? , and how would she feel if she was overweight and someone said that publically about her. I think she would not like it at all and she would find it disrespectful. I sure hope this bothers that dr and she apolagize to him

Yes, weight has a lot to do with it! If he can't make healthy decisions concerning what he eats, how can he make "healthy" decisions concerning our country? If he doesn't lose weight, he might not be around for the next election!

Realistically, it is not just about running for President. It's about being with his family longer by losing weight than political office. Who knows what is hereditary in his family background.? Heart Disease, Diabetes, Hight Blood Pressure. How can such an intelligent man not do what is the best for him. Maybe bypass surgery. My husband had it done and he stopped taking all his medications. What a blessing. Think about it Gov. Best of Health, Luck and Happiness to our New Jersey Gov. You are the best.

I share Chris Christie's background -- Irish Italian working class New Jersey! Also, I like his quips, and some of his politics, although I 'm a Democrat. His weight has NOTHING to do with his thinking, his humanity, and his ability to govern. All those skinnies out there need to get off their soap boxes.

I think he is trying to lose weight. I don't think his weight should stop him from running for office. A person can be overweight and still do his/her job. Unless you have walked in his shoes do not criticize him. I have a hard time maintaining my weight over 110 lbs. I have had many people come out and ask me if I am anorexic. Not their business. What this female Dr. said about him the other day on television was way out of line. She doesn't know how his health is without examining him and his medical records. I love the guy. I am not a Republican but I love Governor Christie.

I would think we should be much more concerned about intregity and intelligence rather than a persons appearance. We have become such a shallow society that it truly meakes me sick at times that we ignore the ecomomy, the jobless rate, the elderly and the welfare of children but lets all be pretty....Obesity is the new prejudice in our society. Shame on us. Believeme, a heavy person has mirrors in their homes and they do not need everyone to remind them.

Just love this guy, he is outstanding, and what he believes in he is a strong person.
I am from New Jersey born and raised, but live in another state for a long time, and had a husband who was very inspiring in his field of work, was also on the heavy side, and felt good but one day... after moving to this other state for business, one week later I woke up to find him. So to me being in a stressful business, wether it be just work, president, or governor, I feel personally weight is tribute to it in some cases.. yes I feel he should lose some, it takes alot of pressure off. "STRESS" causes many things
    thanks for hearing me out.
