@Beetlestorm I didn't mean it was a copy of The Heart Carol, I just meant that it was the more choir-focused vocal song so it wasn't really memorable as the other songs.

I like them all for various reasons; there wasn't a single song that didn't give me at least one chill up my spine.
Morning in Ponyville was an excellent way to start off a musical episode, it immediately caught my attention and set the ball in motion for an episode that can almost play out as a connected set of songs by itself.
What My Cutie Mark is Telling Me does a great job at explaining just how hopeless each of the characters are in their predicament (I always laugh when I see Pinkie fail at apple-bucking) and sets the plot up immediately and offers an excellent image at the end with the six cutie marks and the characters out of place.
Twilight's Find a Way is especially moving and there is no doubt just how utterly guilty she feels for what she accidentally did and the despair she experiences in such a short amount of time.
Then comes "True True Friend," which is a genius song in many regards. Not merely a song of the characters sorting themselves out, it essentially puts into song form the entire plot of the show itself; friends will do whatever they can for one another when they need help. The way in which the song's chorus line builds each time another friend is added and the harmonies grow ever more amazing until all 5 are back to normal and the final chorus is simply mind-blowing.
Next is what is understandably many a fan's favorite musical piece, Celestia's Ballad. For one thing, it's the first time that Celestia had a singing role and her singer did not disappoint. The piano backing and synthesizers worked well together, but there is more than just good music in this piece. The lyrics are exactly the reason for the entire show. To recognize the the main character has completed her character arc and only deepens the bond between a mentor and her now-formal pupil at the same time.
Even Behold, Princess had at least one moment that gave me a slight chill. But in the end, it was still an indulgence that can be accounted for because of the situation in the show. It's not really necessary, but something of a flair because they could do it.
The final song, Life in Equestria doesn't need much introduction, as it is the first verse of the first song with a grand ending. But to be fair, it was at least a fairly fine ending to the such a musically-inclined episode.
Now for the part I don't like, picking a favorite. I find myself torn between the wonderful choruses and show summation of True True Friend and the beautiful writing of Celestia's Ballad. Though one is a full-length song, the other manages to wrap up in much shorter time the entire synopsis of the show as we follow Twilight in what she learns and how she grows as an individual. In the end, I find True True Friend to be more accessible and lively and fun to listen to, but Celestia's Ballad is better written and has a quality to it that when I occasionally do listen to it, it means something more ever time. Like I said, it's about why I love them more than which one I love more, it just depends on what mood I'm in, as with any song.

I haad a doubt and I need an answer please!! .... okey before the premier of the season 3 I hear somewhere something about an episode that rarity is gonna sing a duet with octavia, but due the cut of the season 3 "that" episode doesn't appear ....... is that episode gonna appear in season 4 ?¿?¿?

  • Rainbow Dash - 11 years ago

I think my voice is amazing. I should get to sing a song in every episode.

  • Beetlestorm - 11 years ago

@EQM, I just listened to both and couldn't see how it's a copy of Hearth's Warming Eve? If you play the Behold song and attempt to sing the Hearth's Warming Eve lyrics it doesn't make sense it goes so differently. It sounds kind of similar at first but they're actually 2 different songs.

And anyway my favorite was probably Celestia's ballad. Liquid pride was shed

  • Dan - 11 years ago

I just listened to them all again. A bunch of excellent songs, but I had to go with A True True Friend.

  • EQM - 11 years ago

Behold, Princess Twilight wasn't even a song. It was The Hearth's Warming Eve choir song but even shorter. I don't even really consider it a song.

Celestia's Ballad was my favorite scene, but not necessarily my favorite song. Kind of similar to my opinion on This Day Aria.

What My Cutie Mark is Telling Me is certainly my favorite. The different tunes for each pony were kind of a mish-mash between the pony and the cutie mark of the switched pony done excellently.

  • thefudgemaster - 11 years ago

one does not simply choose one finale song. there should have been a all fo the above option.

  • Airdry - 11 years ago

My favorite (the one I voted for) was A True, True Friend. However, I believe the best written song was What My Cutie Mark Is Telling Me--Daniel Ingram never ceases to please.

  • RandomPie - 11 years ago

Voted for True, True Friend since it's the best song in the SHOW. However, I'm still waiting for the extended version of I've Got to Find a Way, which is pretty neat; also, the remixes to that one are just beast!!

  • RainBohDah - 11 years ago

Anyone who votes for Life in Equestria is the one percent.

  • Rockpath5 - 11 years ago

135 people accidentally hit Behold, Princess. This is the only explanation.

  • ME - 11 years ago

I'm sorry but I didn't like any of them. They all seemed forced and the songs themselves weren't very great. Replacing conflict with singing ponies in an episode isn't the best idea.

  • nathanisbored - 11 years ago

I didn't watch the finale or listen to any of the songs, but whichever one wins this poll I guess I'll check out.

  • stefan - 11 years ago

Go back and listen to Celestia's ballad once more, but this time, take her words from the fans' perspective.

I consider these two minutes the single greatest nod to the fandom that ever was on the show.

  • Cuttershy - 11 years ago

[x] What My Cutie Mark is Telling Me aka. The Cutie Mark Song

  • RainbowClass - 11 years ago

Honestly I didn't like any of them

  • Dogman15 - 11 years ago

I think Behold, Princess Twilight Sparkle was my least favorite.

  • PrincessofDusk - 11 years ago

Why is there no All of the Above option?

  • Loleus - 11 years ago

I mainly loved What My Cutie Mark Is Telling Me because of that high note Applejack sings--major points to Ashleigh Ball for that! Since AJ has more of a lower pitched voice than the rest of the main cast, that kind of note is a rarity for her.

  • Bronwyn - 11 years ago

Wow, it has to be What MY Cutie Mark Is Telling Me, for me! That's only because that's the one I'm singing the most, though. :)
I absolutely adored all of the songs, and the orchestra was simply amazing. It was like ear-chocolate, if you know what I mean...?! Good to ear-taste. :3 :D

  • Hazenkain - 11 years ago

Has to be Celestia's Ballad, that was one powerful scene and the orchestration was just outstanding, it also was very balanced between vocal and instrumental only moments, and the lyrics weren't in the least bit repetitive comparing them to the other songs in the episode (not saying they were bad or anything). Adding in that I'm a sucker for sentimental piano pieces and the fact Celestia sings for the very first time (with an amazing voice I must say) it pretty much sums up my obvious choice.

  • Kimberly Martin - 11 years ago

Morning in Ponyville, and morning in Equestria should have shared a poll spot, because its essentially the same song

  • Lukas Hägg - 11 years ago

No brainer for me. Celestia's Ballad. A bit short, but oh so sweet.

  • Hat - 11 years ago

Morning in Ponyville. Best way to start the day.

  • HalflingPony - 11 years ago

My vote was between True, True Friend and What My Cutie Mark is Telling Me, with the former just barely edging out the latter. That said, if Ingram releases the extended version of I've Got to Find a Way, it will most likely rocket to the top of my list. The only flaw in that beautiful song was its brevity.

  • anon51238 - 11 years ago

All of them sucked. Forcing 7 songs into a single episode was a horrible idea.

  • bythehoofofpinkie - 11 years ago

many liquid pride were shad on I've got to find a way ):

  • Bryce Kanyon - 11 years ago

As far as the songs I liked, I do think that a majority of these songs from the finale were enjoyable to listen to. I've always been a sucker for musicals and for the season to end with a musical-like episode, regardless if it was rushed, I really enjoyed listening to the fine vocals, the catchy orchestra, and the emotion both visually and literally. But if I had to choose "one" song out of all of them I really enjoy, understand this does not mean I didn't like any of the other songs, quite the opposite. I love every song in the finale for helping to push the story along, but the song I really found myself enjoying the most is: A True, True Friend. Because to me, I feel this song has a powerful message behind not just the finale but the series as a whole. It can't be denied we all have our problems and we're all trying to find our place in life, that's why the best friends to have our those who stand behind you and understand your pains. A friend who is willing to help you in your time of need, even if it's not wanted. But what matters is not what a person "wants", but the fact a person "needs" that kind of encouragement more than they realize. And to me, that's what I loved about this song. Just for that, "True, True Friend" gets my vote and here's hoping to an awesome fourth season.

  • SStwins11 - 11 years ago

Why isn't What My Cutie Mark is Telling Me winning??? I think its the best song of all the 3 seasons!!!! ;D

And the Morning in Ponyville and Life in Equestria songs are great too! And Celestia's Ballad. And I've Got to Find a Way. Really, everything was great!!!

  • archiveit - 11 years ago

The top two are pretty predictable, but justified. I'm a bit disappointed Morning in Ponyville isn't higher. It actually is really good. Only one I really didn't like was I've Got to Find a Way.

  • Twylite Sparkle - 11 years ago

"A True True Friend"-The SimGretina mix didn't hurt either...

  • Tailsy - 11 years ago

My persoal Favorite is what my cuite mark is telling me, because of the catchy tune and the way it sounds.

  • ArrJaySketch - 11 years ago

I had such a hard time deciding! I loved ALL of the music in the finale! There were so many wonderful songs. :)

  • Zormau - 11 years ago

NO! I could hardly decide which season was my favourite, and now THIS?!
I can in no way determine which song I liked best. Morning in Ponyville, WMCMITM, True True friend, Celestia's Ballad, Life in Equestria (as a reprise of Morning in Ponyville) are all equally awesome in their own ways. I'll just vote Morning in Ponyville since it has so few votes so far^^

  • jim61773 - 11 years ago

I'd probably like "True, True Friend" if it wasn't such an ear worm.

As it is, I voted for "What My Cutie Mark Is Telling Me" as a funny, interesting song that isn't nearly so earwormy

  • Jaboll252 - 11 years ago

    Favorite song: True, true friend.
My favorite moment however, was Celestia's Ballad moment.
