Is the land surrounding Dodger Stadium a good spot for an NFL stadium?

It would be horrible if a new stadium was built at the Ravine. It's a tired location with nothing around it, and parking would be horrible. I think the downtown idea is great because there is so much going on with LA Live and everything else around there. It would be an amazing experience to spend a day in downtown for dining, drinks and an NFL game...all within easy walking diatance.

Could we drop the NFL Stadium Fantasy at Chavez Ravine already!!! That place is TERRIBLE to get in and out of for a 20, 000 fan Dodgers-Padres game on Saturdays. L.A. City Council and the Governor signed off and support AEG's FARMERS FIELD & revamp of the CONVENTION CENTER. That plan is ready to rock 'n roll NOW (or as soon as AEG's sold). If Chavez Ravine is back in the so-called picture, we'll never be back in the NFL.

I love football as much as the next fan. However, what really sold me on Farmers Field in downtown is how beneficial it would be to the area. Los Angeles, in my opinion, lacks a city center such as can be found in major cities like Chicago and New York. Building near Dodgers stadium does nothing to improve our downtown area that is in desperate need of growth. I have noticed progress with the building of Staples center, LA Live and numerous modern condos that have attracted more people to reside in the area. It is my hope that Farmers Field would continue to aid in this transformation, not only bringing football back to LA but also more jobs, a better public transportation system as well as a new found pride in Los Angeles through a city center.

One thing is important, that being the tailgating issue. They don't allow it at the Ravine now, that will have to change. And where will tailgating happen downtown? Anything to do with McCourt is unfortunate as well. One other issue is public transportation to Dodger Stadium which is still inferior to most stadiums around the country. A subway or light rail or dedicated bus lanes /new roads are a must. That will take a long time to improve.Dodger stadium will probably be ruined in the process , but at this point considering how dated the facility is, it doesn't matter too much to me.
