No! I don’t get this! Maybe because I came to the show late and missed the whole Nina and Ian dating thing but Stefan is by far the better choice for her. Damon does nothing but disappoint and hurt her and Stefan is so committed to her for so long, even though she puts him through so much! I hate how the show ended sooo much! I wish it could’ve been Stelena in the end.
Nooo Stelena!! Even though the show has now ended and I am heartbroken. I kinda gave up after season 5 because personally I think it had lost its thing. Elena was much worse as a vampire and I don't think Damon brought out the best in her, unlike Stefan. Stefan has been through a lot as well just saying :)

I agree that Damon and Elena are epic, happy and in love, but Stefan and Elena were in freaking love for 3 SEASONS!!!!! Face the facts: Even though Damon met Elena first, Stefan had the balls to go up to her face and meet her, without any compulsion!!!! Stefan doesn't want to change Elena, he wants her to not become a Ripper like he did in the 1800's. Even though Stefan was a little boring in some episodes doesn't mean that Elena should be with Damon!!!! Elena seemed more herself with both Salvatore brothers and she was in love with both of them. And now onto Delena! Damon and Elena are such an epic love! Damon wants best for Elena! Every single decision he made was to protect her and sometimes he got out of control. But, Elena stayed with him because she knew in her heart that he would never cause her imminent pain or suffering. She fell hard, so did he!!! See, these two couples are completely awesome and amazing!!! I LOVE both Stelena and Delena and I enjoyed seeing the different chemistry Damon and Stefan has with Elena!!! Elena and Damon are a perfect couple!!! Elena and Stefan are/were a perfect couple!!! Stop this fight about a love triangle in a TV show!!!!!!! Whatever turns out, I am going to be happy with it!!!!

I LOVE both Delena and Stelena and I must agree that, yes Damon is more fun and Stefan can be a bit dull but he is not terrible to watch. I believe Stelena was a real relationship rather than the Delena relationship which basically consists of making out and sex. When it comes down to it Stefan met Elena because she looked like Kathrine. But he loves Elena for who she is. He never TRULY loved Kathrine like Damon did. Kathrine compulsed Stefan into things such as drinking blood when he was human. Damon didn't have to be compulsed because he truly loved her. Damon truly loved Kathrine and Stefan truly loves Elena and that's how I believe it should be. When Stefan was FORCED to kill Elena by an original vampire he didn't do it. After all this ripper attitude, he held himself back and fought the compulsion because he truly loves her. Damon on the other hand would've just killed her. He is selfish and careless. Just because you pity him and think he's hot doesn't make him the better choice. Damon has killed people Elena loves and put people in danger. He doesn't care. Stefan does and would never do that on purpose. Stefan would've kept her human because that's what SHE wanted yet Damon tried to change her. I believe the Stelena thing got a little boring and with all this build-up leading up to Delena it had to finally happen or the show would've went downhill. For now change is good and it's good to finally see Delena as well. But in the end Stefan will be the one Elena ends up with and I think we all know that deep down. That is the only way the show can succeed. But the only way this show can bring it back is if they make Stelena a lot more interesting and fun. I think maybe Stefan will become a bit of a badass for a little with this ripper shit again. If he doesn't then forget everything I just said because I love Delena too.

They realized that the series goes very fast between Elena and Stefan? it's like they want to take them off, as it's all filler to be showing the real story that is as falls for damon elena. Everyone who saw the show realize that actually all about Damon and Elena as she has changed for the better and the surprises and love.
Aside say what is stefan and had his true love once with katherine and we know how finished, it's time to shift Damon may love the show as well, I think if Elena is going to be smart with damon will not be easy, there will be fights and many things she hates in the beautiful but that's what you learn to love it as is.

Damon and Elena, for me they are the reason why I even started to ship a couple on TVD. Too be honest they are not yet a couple, but from S1 to present their chemistry has been second to none. I love the fact that Damon never pretended to be anything other then he was he let Elena see both the good and bad in him, that he was a vampire and behaved accordingly. And Elena fell in love with him anyway, but was too afraid to come out and say it. Damon loves her unconditionally, whether she is human or a vampire, but if he had his choice Elena the vampire is more alive and exciting to him. Right now he wants her to have the cure because he is afraid that if she does something bad while her humanity is switched off it will haunt her when it returns, so he wants her to learn from his mistakes and he is not afraid to tell her so, plus Elena as also told him why she doesn't want the cure. That is what's so specially about Delena, they are not afraid to tell each other the truth, and they trust each other.
ITS ALL ABOUT STEFAN AND ELENA!!!!!!!! Delena is my favorite couple on this show. Stelena is boring and it lacks fun and substance. It won't be beneficial to both Elena and Stefan's character if they get back together. They're better off as friends/exes and just move on.
Love is actually something that is underrated. I think anyone who read the book will elect tvd stefan and elena but the series is different, nose elena and stefan think if they are a cute couple (say good) but nose is very common as it looks everywhere the perfect couple.
But with Damon and Elena are unique not know how they will act and that's what the beauty of this cute couple who are not perfect but is assimilated to real life in a unique and real love. That's the beauty, and is more than sex because damon elena and damon switch to Elena.

Okay, I'm really tired of comments like, DE brings out the best in each other or Stefan just wants her to be the way he wants her to.. first of all, Stefan never forced her to anything, 2nd, I think that DE brings out the best in each other was never the matter and now it seems like Damon's getting annoyed too, haha. People seem to forget that Stefan is known as the RIPPER he has killed way more people then Damon remember the names on the door. Remember Damon didnt even want to be a vampire, Stefan made him that. I like Stefan he seemed like the right choice, but he wants her human he keeps trying to keep her the way he wants her. He wanted her because she looked like Katherine he said he had to know why he was curious. Damon did also meet her first. He loves her as a vampire and as human even if making her human will end there relationship like so many say in the show. Stefan always seemed like the right choice but now it seems as though that relationship has grown as much as it will, her and Damon keep evolving she makes him better and he gives her excitement and joy in life. Now I would like to see Stefan end up with Rebeka. I hated her at first but now it seems all she ever wanted was to be human go to school dances be a cheerleader. Her and Stephen would be perfect because she wants simple. I know that people say thats not how it happens in the books, but this is just my opinon of how I feel everyone would be happy and it makes for a bettr story....

Damon and Elena. IMO their love is more true, deep, and real. The only reason Stefan wanted to be with Elena in the first place was because she was identical to Katherine. Damon and Elena have had a spark from the first season, even when they disagreed. He has always been there for her, and loves her so much that he would stand by and watch his brother be with the woman he loves. True love does consume you, and even if you try your hardest to fight it it will end up consuming you. They deserve to be together. If you love someone you will love them at their best and worst regardless. Stefan and Elena's relationship is not like that at all. He doesn't accept her at her worst, so why would he deserve her at her best. I feel for Damon going threw so much. He was in love with Katherine so deeply that he would rescue her after years of her supposedly being locked in the tomb and she looks at him and tells him that its always been STEFAN and always will. Elena was at a dark place on her life when she met Stefan and he in a way took advantage of her. Maybe Stefan should try out a relationship with rebecka. Even though I'm not a big fan of klouse I would like to see Caroline and him together, I think he has genuinly deep feelings for her, it would be an interesting dynamic.

Delena. About that sire issue between Damon and Elena, she had to love him in the first place for that to work. Plus, he never told her to do any of the things she did with him. Damon and Elena. Damon has evolved and is not the same vampire that he was on season one. Yes, he is impulsive, but everything he does is for the love of Elena. Damon loved Elena as a human and as a vampire, he does not want to change her. Stefan on the other hand is better suited to be her friend. Although she never gave up on him, before her humanity switch, she decided that she was "in love" with Damon and not Stefan. I think that Stefan should move on but remain friends with Elena.
I agree with Karen. I watch the show mostly for Damon. He breaks my heart. He's lost so much.
A vampire's emotions and personality are heightened and exaggerated when they turn. When Damon was human he loved with everything he was, unconditionally and more than his own life, and in return for that love, he got cheated on by Katherine with his own brother and later was told she never loved him.
After 140+ years he finally learns to let go of what was bad for him, and to love someone kind and compassionate, who is the opposite of Katherine, and STILL he has to watch her choose his brother over him. But it's OK, he gets it, he loves his brother too, he understands her loving Stefan. He repeatedly takes the 'high and boring road' and supports their relationship, despite wanting her more than anything. He believes he doesn't deserve her, that his brother is the better man...
But what evidence is there that Stefan IS the better man?
When he was human he hurt his brother by being with a woman he couldn't truly love when he knew who she really was (sound familiar?) and had to be compelled into staying with her.
He forced Damon to turn into a vampire.
He ignored Damon's advice and counsel and went on a Ripper bender for decades, killing all his victims, while Damon showed moderation, compelling people when he fed, and leaving them breathing for the most part.
Damon was lonely, but because Lexie told him Stefan couldn't cope with being around him, he left and continued to be lonely and alone for decades.
Stefan fell off and on the wagon, being alternately psycho killer, followed by self loathing, followed by psycho killer, as Lexie helped him time and again.
Stefan was intrigued by Elena because of her resemblance to Katherine. He stayed in Mystic Falls for the sole purpose of meeting Elena and making her fall in love with him, with no consideration for how he'd prevent her living a normal human life.
Damon came back to town to rescue Katherine after the comet, and used the opportunity to torment Stefan (I think because he missed his brother!). He met Elena and wanted to stop her and Stefan being a couple - and who can blame him? He was bitter about the Katherine thing and wanted revenge.
Damon came to love and appreciate Elena for herself not for her resemblance to Katherine. The differences between them made him see the wrong choice he made all those years ago, and what love should really be. He repeatedly saves her life, watches her love his brother, suffers all the pain of unrequited love for YEARS. He protects her over and over again, saves her friends, fights for her, learns to love and trust again, and finds his humanity...
But Stefan gets the girl simply because she was ripe for falling in love with someone new when he came into her life, and because he represented someone who would not die like her parents! There was no earning her love, no proving himself to her, no changing for the better. He lied to her and stalked her!
In a good relationship, each person is better simply for being with and knowing the other - but Stefan's love has conditions. He doesn't like her as a vampire only as a human. He threatened to drive her over the bridge where her parents died, forcing her to relive her worst ever moment. He threatened, compelled and physically hurt Jeremy - not because he was hurting and lashing out in a moment of intense pain fuelled by a 140+ year obsession, while off his head on drink - but in a cold, sober, calculating,'I-don't-want-Elena-to-be-this-way' attempt to fix her and turn her into the person he wants her to be.
Damon supported S & E's relationship, tried to bring Stefan back for her, explained why he was doing certain thing so Elena didn't lose faith in him...
Stefan has acted like a dick since Elena chose Damon. He believes himself to be superior to Damon, which just proves he's not. Damon doesn't feel good enough, which shows his regard for her, the way she makes him want to

I only watch this show for Delena. I don't know what it is but my heart breaks for Damon everytime he has been rejected and hurt by Elena. Finally she was willing at act on her feelings and not fight them. Stefan was so busy trying to fix her, he ended up loosing her. Stefan's tries to be "the good guy" but deep down has far more serious problems then Damon ever will have. Last season when he killed Andie, threatened to throw Elena off the same bridge her parents had died and basically pushed her aside for no other reason then to get his revenge on Klaus, I think proved his demons run deep. Damon on the other hand has been there for her no matter what and loved her as a human and as a vampire. Stefan's love is more the idea of Elena, an idealistic image. Damon's love is pure and unconditional.
