As an employer I have to be careful to ensure our office is a location where our staff is willing to commute to. We looked at office locations, where we were told that if we moved there, we would loose staff.
We often complain about how hockey players are treated differently. In this case Kipper is willing to work if based in Calgary, but not willing (fore go his salary) if forced to work based elsewhere. Why is he criticized for doing what I see people in Calgary consider every day? I also suspect the question would never be posed to Kipper in that manner.
Would the reporters on the radio feel they did not have right to consider changing companies if they were posted to Labrador for the next year on 3 days notice?
Are reporters underminding the efforts of the Flames with all their blunt questions.

Absolutely right Doug. Kipper was paid well for his time here in Calgary but as his career shows he owes us absolutely nothing. And, if a guy wants to quite his job that's fine too. If as some dolts are suggesting, that the club sit him for the rest of the year it will show just exactly what kind of ownership we have here.

Iginla has been treated better than the Pope. IMO Kipper deserves no less. He's held this no talent group in games for years.

It astounds me how "fans" can turn on a local hero like some have on Kipper.

Kipper Is one of the best goalies to ever play the game. Kipper will make more money in one year than I will in my lifetime so how can you say no I am done if you trade me I wont go? Kipper is living the dream of being a professional athlete. With the amount of money that these guys make there should be no issue for kipper to be traded and hopefully traded somewhere good so he can win a cup. At the end of the day everyone has to do things they may not want to do, but we man up and do it anyway. 20 years from now Kipper will be saying to himself I wish I took that trade to maybe try and win a cup. You don't want to live your life with those "What If" questions.

Kipper has made this team competitive for years when we would have been hopeless otherwise. He owes us nothing. Does anyone remember Haken Loob? Only difference is Loob had enough talent around him to win a cup, including 13 Flames draft picks. This team has 2 in the lineup right now. Want to see the Flames real problem ? Look at our draft record in the last 20 years.
