What do you think is the best way to educate new IndyCar fans?

I think we are still seeing the disconnect w/ fans and repercussions of the split. While I hate to blame everything on that, and get tired of hearing those that do, I believe that is the case here. Most of us grew up loving and following the sport because our parents/fathers loved and followed IndyCar. When we lost fans by the hundreds there was nobody around to explain to their kids about the intricacies of race weekends. Now some of those kids, who were not introduced to racing at an early age, are slowly filtering back to the sport but are clueless.
Trying to explain something to a fan at the racetrack is touchy, most don't want to look like they don't know. So I believe getting their interest piqued is the first step. A few will look up info on their own as they start seeing the excellent racing but for the rest I think a quick handout at the turnstiles could work wonders, having announcers who LOVE the sport (not just the paycheck) will go a long way to educate fans.
A little education now will pay dividends for years just as the sport is still suffering years after the split.
