This is the real deal, I know because I ended up buying this car. It was much more than what I expected, the pictures you see really does not do this car justice(the red stripe bumper was simply installed red tape from a prior photo). I bought this in August of 2013, had it shipped to the west coast where it resides in a climate controlled garage.

    No regrets.

    Gentlemen,

Seems that this car has sparked alot of banter. Let me clear something up real quickly -this car is the real deal. It's the 3rd E30 M3 Cabrio imported into the United States. It was imported back in 2003 by the current owner named Rick. Phi Cataldi's was the first imported and currently resides with Enthusiast Auto in Ohio (http://enthusiastauto.com/qsearch/?id=4191&form_display=51#.UYJurkp3abQ). My car is the second one imported (www.bmwe30m3cabrio.com).

This particular car has been featured on Jalopnik multiple times over the past couple of years. The first time, it showed up for $100K, recently at $60K and most recently at $48K. It's all the same car and the same owner.

Now for the second item, whether it's worth the money is up to the prospective purchaser to decide. I'll leave it there. What I will say is that I know that several of the E30 M3 Cabrios that are in the U.S. are insured for greater than this current asking price. If one were to do the research figure out the cost of what it would cost to purchase, import and federalize, you will understand the true cost.

Hopefully this helps clarify whether this car is legit or not.
