I've never done it out loud, but I've thought it without trying to. It can be annoying, but I just roll with it. Twilight's name also seems to enjoy repeating itself in my head a lot.

  • Meghan - 11 years ago

No because I don't want people to know I watch the show. I rather just keep it private but if I were to have some brony friends I would maybe loosen up about this little.

  • Sunderbraze - 11 years ago

Only while intoxicated. So, does that count as accidental or intentional? Hard to say, knowing me... Hmm.

  • L4R63N7 - 11 years ago

Wow! So much hostility in here. So, for using ponified words in real life, I'm a retard, a faggot, and a terrible person. REALLY?! It doesn't take very much to set some people off does it?

  • sPz - 11 years ago

not counting the fact that my life containe a disturbing quantity of similarityes to the show from about 10 years, no. the only time i said something different from the "normal" version was pip-BUCK instead of pip-Boy talking about fallout.

  • Fiery - 11 years ago

Ive droped a couple of "everypony" at work a couple of times at work by accident when i first started to watch the show, no one really seemed to notice/care.

  • Sky-Quill - 11 years ago

I once was watching the news with my folks and there was the Oscar Mayer wiener tuck and I said "the Oscar Mayer tuck waits for no pony!" I immediately realized my use of pony and looked around but I folks ether didn't notice or didn't care :T my parents know I'm a brony :P

  • Kraden - 11 years ago

I dropped an 'everypony' live on air for our show a couple times. Awkwaaaard

  • Insanitic - 11 years ago

There are way too many people who speak pony jargon purposefully. Its actually pretty worrying.

  • shadowcell - 11 years ago

i have several friends who have pledged to shoot me if i ever do this.

that is how i know that they are really my friends.

  • CloudiestNights - 11 years ago

I almost said "Canterlot" instead of Camelot on numerous occasions (curse you, Holy Grail!) but I've caught myself every time.

  • CharlieSB - 11 years ago

I once said 'Fallout Equestria' instead of 'Fallout New Vegas' in front of my dad, luckily he's got bad hearing and we were watching a loud fight scene in a movie so he didn't even notice I was talking :)
Because of this I'm going to count that as a 'no' but still, it felt like a close one (Even though it really wasn't).

  • Dora - 11 years ago

The only one I've done is to call my husband, a non-brony, my "special somepony" from time to time to tease him because it makes him blush and roll his eyes.

  • Numuruzero - 11 years ago

Nothing against it personally, but I think it's going a bit far. In the same way I wouldn't gush about, say, Sonic the Hedgehog to someone who barely knows what that is, I'm not going to change my style of speech to reference MLP 50 times a day. Plus, I've got a few friends who simply find it obnoxious on a lingual level.

  • Pisonisy - 11 years ago

    Nope

  • PonyPonePoni - 11 years ago

Saying "anypony"/"Everypony"/whatever at any point in real life (or on the internet for that matter) pretty guarantees you're a terrible person.

  • Woolytop - 11 years ago

I have personally informed my friends that they have permission to come to my house and beat me to death should I ever say or type "Every/any/nopony" unironically. Having these ponism slip into my normal speech patterns is simply crossing a line for me.

  • GuyPerson - 11 years ago

Aye, It just kinda slips out once in awhile, But if anyone has any reservations against it they havn't said anything. Tis nothing to be ashamed of.

  • onex - 11 years ago

No, but I intentionally quote the show when appropriate, which no one around here notices : \

  • SilentCarto - 11 years ago

I've had to backspace on more than one occasion after writing "maneframe" instead of "mainframe" in a work email.
    Thanks, Fallout Equestria...

  • brian577 - 11 years ago

I've accidentally said buck a few times in place of fuck.

  • Groudon199 - 11 years ago

Regularly, no. I've used ponified words in conversations 4 times, and each time I was talking about the show.

  • Kapuchu - 11 years ago

I once wanted to ask a friend if he's ever watched "Doctor Who", I accidently said "Doctor Whooves"

And I also say "Eeyup", thought mostly on accident.

  • Deadpool Dash - 11 years ago

I've done it on purpose and by accident

  • Ed Thorpe - 11 years ago

    Unless Eeyup counts, then Nope.

  • SomeBrony - 11 years ago

pretty difficult if you are not english

  • ice.ivanov - 11 years ago

I'd really like to use it from time to time but unfortunately (maybe not) i live in a non-english-speaking country (russia) and nobody (even fellow bronies) will get it if i mix some russian words to sound pony-like.

  • Snerb - 11 years ago

When proofreading my final project for an interpersonal and group dynamics class I noticed I typed "everypony" instead of "everyone" on multiple occasions. =D Glad I did proofread before submitting it though. :P

  • Koosawachi - 11 years ago

I don't really have many chances to speak English. So this poll is auto-no for me
But a little bit of references like "Eeyup" or "OH COME ON !!" should be fun.

  • Noel - 11 years ago

I'm surprised someponies here are hating this idea and really hating bronies for doing it. It's really not that bad. It's fun to celebrate Hearth's Warming Eve with my brony friend, or to refer to my starcraft 2 ponies group as everypony. If you have a pony OC, it's not even that inaccurate to say it, and spewing out hate for everypony who does do it isn't really embracing love and tolerance. I'm a little disappointed by the lack of openmindedness in these comments.

  • HalflingPony - 11 years ago

On occasion I'll be reading a news article on a non-brony site and catch myself mentally reading the word "anybody" as "anypony". After doing a double-take and confirming that, yes, I am indeed going insane, I make a mental note to *never* *ever* read *anything* out loud *ever*, in case I slip up in front of someone else.

@Arma "on accident" is not an "Americanism", it is simply and purely *idiotic* and recognized as such by educated Americans and non-Americans alike.

  • Him - 11 years ago

I guess it's time to stop reading poll comments now, considering the hate I am reading. It is quite disappointing

  • Sheep - 11 years ago

I've actually done it on accident AND on propose!

  • L4R63N7 - 11 years ago

    39% No?! Awwwwww! Party Poopers!
Ponifying your speech is awesome! You get some of the wierdest looks (like they didn't give the enough when they found out you watch the show).

  • octillion - 11 years ago

While I don't actually use "ponified" words, I do sometimes say things in a way that reminds me of the show, such as Rainbow Dash's "Aww Yeah!" or Sweetie Belle's "OH COME ON!"

  • Arma - 11 years ago

I will admit on one or two occasions, I've accidentally used 'ponified' dialogue in both my speech and my writing. It's infrequent, but I'm guessing it happens because I tend to hang around pony-themed websites and converse with other bronies in that kind of dialect both for shitz n' giggles and in some deliberate instances like when RPing or making references.

It just sorta ingrains itself into you if you do it frequently enough. Thankfully I've never done it in front of anyone that isn't already a brony.

Also, my inner Grammar-Nazi is forcing me to make a correction: "Yes, I've done it BY accident." "ON accident" is something called an "Americanism", which is basically a way of justifying America butchering the English language by saying "screw you, I can say it however I want." To which I reply "fuck you."

  • Dark Qiviut - 11 years ago

Eeeeeeeeeyup! I definitely do it (and a bronyism like "plot" instead of "butt") on purpose for two reasons: because it's silly, and the quizzical reactions when they see or hear me do it is hilarious.

  • Publix Spring Water - 11 years ago

For those of you calling other fans "cancer" and other derogatory terms just for purposefully saying these things; you're being jerks.

  • DirtyDan - 11 years ago

One time I was watching a pony video in the morning, and when I took the dog out I unintentionally called it 'pony' instead of 'puppy'. Never caught myself saying 'anypony' though, and I sure as hell don't intend to.

  • Icing - 11 years ago

The only times I do that are on accident and sometimes on the computer. I would usually say 'Eeyep', 'Nnope',or ' yay' though, considering how my friends won't catch the reference. But I do remember saying Fillydelphia and anypony by accident once.

  • randomthought - 11 years ago

Well, english is not my first language so I can't really ponify anything. Unless on the internet of course. And I'm not sure if I would if I could.

  • SuperDerp - 11 years ago

Yes, I was was mad, and worked it into a rant subconsciously. The fact that I was ranting just made it so much worse.
    No regrets...

  • Misogypony - 11 years ago

no, and anyone who does is a massive faggot.

  • Shaderunner - 11 years ago

Yep, although I was high and I said that I had "Pinkie Pie'd" something.

  • Aotyrek - 11 years ago

Slips sometimes, though I wouldn't mind talking that way if I had some pony friends in real life. ^.^ /)

  • lordelliott - 11 years ago

I almost did, but caught myself. I have thought in "pony" by accident sometimes.

  • Maphysto - 11 years ago

I live in fear of the day I slip up and say 'everypony' in front of my non-Brony friends.

  • master ruseman - 11 years ago

    >28% do it on purpose

    So much cancer.

  • Dan - 11 years ago

    Eeyup.

  • Beatfox - 11 years ago

Count me among those who accidentally let "Canterlot" slip once.

I don't purposefully ponify my conversations, though.

  • Lauren - 11 years ago

I usually don't go out of my way to make references, but sometimes I let a "eeyup" or "nope" slip. When I was talking with my family about New York I accidentley said "Manehattan".

  • www.pat - 11 years ago

Nobody notices something strange when I say "Eeyup" or "Yay". So I guess it's fine. :)

  • DeltaResero - 11 years ago

Anyone who selected"yes" for this poll shouldn't make themself look like retard to any sane person, just maybe a bit obsesive. Anyone who selected "yes" likely just has a more extroverted personality as apposed to introverted.

  • Somepony - 11 years ago

Once I was talking about King Arthur and I said Canterlot instead of Camelot.

  • Noel - 11 years ago

I do it often, but only when I'm talking about ponies or bronies to another brony. It's pretty fun, but I figure it doesn't apply to most situations, because non-bronies can't be accurately described as ponies.

  • Objective Brony - 11 years ago

No, but I've read words like "somebody" and thought they said "somepony" before doing a double take.

  • DMPony - 11 years ago

I've said 'Mane-hattan' more than once, but that one's pretty easy to overlook especially with my New England accent.
I've also said 'Sweet Celestia' a few times, but my friends are used to me swearing by various random deities so I'm not sure if anyone caught it.
Not like they don't know I'm a fan of the show, I just don't think anyone's really caught me making a fool of myself yet :D

  • Teddington - 11 years ago

@Necro Critic: Done exactly that. In addition my friend corrected my pronunciation of 'Camelot', after which I hurriedly moved the conversation on.

  • GLS - 11 years ago

I read anyone/anybody as anypony in my head more than I would like but have never mixed anything up in a real conversation.

  • alanna - 11 years ago

    fuck no

(seriously, i LOVE the show and I even think it's fucking stupid to ponify your words like that, considering 99.9% of the time you are referring to human beings, not ponies.)

  • Schattensang - 11 years ago

Well, I don't do it with Anypony or Somepony or something similar, but I sometimes use the other words for those special holidays like Hearts Warming Eve ^-^ And to be fair... Hearts Warming Eve sounds a lot better than Christmas, at least for me :D

  • Necro Critic - 11 years ago

I once had a conversation regarding Arthurian lore and the Knights of the Round Table. I accidentally said Canterlot.

  • Frith - 11 years ago

On occasion, like calling Xmas "Hearth's Warming" and singing "call upon the P-ponies" when tossing hay to the Mongolian wild horses. No one cotons on. ^_^

  • EbonQuill - 11 years ago

I've ponified my schoolwork when possible

  • GT - 11 years ago

    The correct answer is No

  • me - 11 years ago

    Looks pretty even so far.
I don't do it in real life, but do online all the time.

  • DoctorWhooves - 11 years ago

Nope since I speak a different language, and the translated version would be awkward and stand out too much heh.

  • RFpones - 11 years ago

I use 'silly filly' more than I probably should.

  • Turbotowns - 11 years ago

I totally do, It's fun. XD

  • gloaming - 11 years ago

the third option should be "nope" :D

  • bronybob69 - 11 years ago

No, and anyone who does is a retard in my books.
