2nd amendment rights ? What a strange way of reducing the student population due to budget cuts.

Guns in the hands of a drunk person anywhere are dangerous. That doesn't mean that we should strip away people's God-given, Constitutionally protected rights. If a person is dumb enough to get into a fight and use the firearm to solve it, that person will spend a large portion of their life in jail. MOST people who take the time to legally own and carry firearms are responsible people who are, more often than not, looking to protect themselves. You can't let the few bad apples that are stupid with their firearms ruin the rights of others to defend themselves. As a law-abiding citizen, I will abide by the laws and policies as they stand. But don't mistake the fact that I do as a law-abiding citizen for the fact that someone who has already decided to break the law will all-of-a-sudden stop just because that one extra policy is in place. Murder, rape, robbery, assault. All those things are already illegal, yet they happen on a regular basis every day. If they can disobey the laws to bring harm to me, why should there be a policy limiting my rights and abilities to defend myself?

You've got to be kidding. Guns in the hands of drunk students? Its just a disaster waiting to happen. Kids today don't settle arguments with words or fists, they use guns. If the admin thinks the students rights are infringed then I guess I can assume that we'll be able to take guns into a courthouse. This is beyond stupid.

What's the point of carrying if you can't take them into a building? Are classes being taught outside? If you feel that you need a ccw, then you think you should have it all the time. Walking home from a late class, the library or a sporting event are great opportunities for a crime to take place.
