I cannot believe that the classics like singing in the rain, my fair lady, sound of music (just to name a few) aren't on the poll..... -.-
Completely forgot to mention (in my previous comment) what about all the Astaire / Rogers films? Yes, Top Hat was mention in the list but is that THE best of the whole group and, what about the movies that Fred Astaire did with other partners? Easter Parade w/ Judy Garland was included on the list but is that the best of the films Astaire did without Rogers? Also, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, how many are familiar with this FRENCH film included among AMERICAN films?
Grease, Hard Day's Night, Calamity Jane ? Where's Singing in the Rain (once thought of as the greatest movie musical), My Fair Lady, Cabaret, as well as the group of Rogers and Hammerstein musicals made into films? Personally, it was difficult for me to decide between West Side Story and An American in Paris however, I do think there are some movies on this list that shouldn't be on this list whereas there are some that have been excluded.
I think you have forgotten about the BEST and most important musical of ALL-TIME - the Sound of Music!!!
Cabaret, Seven Brides, Saturday Night Fever, Singin in the Rain, My Fair Lady, . . . Nitwit does not even come close
A HARD DAY'S NIGHT and no SEVEN RIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS - you nitwit
