Asking a question like this in Brevard county is EXACTLY like asking a Southerner in 1860 if slavery should be kept or abolished. You would get a completely different answer today if you asked this same question about unions elsewhere, say in New York, just as one would have if the slavery question had been posed in 1860 in New York. And yes, the simile is valid, sadly.
