What people fail to understand is that the ridiculous sugar coated crap that Wilder did was nothing like the book; even the name was wrong! Johnny Depp's version is much closer to the book and I think that Dahl himself would have preferred his portrayal. Let's face it, Dahl wrote quirky books; who better to bring that to the screen than Tim and Johnny? Anyway, Johnny makes for much better eye-candy! Pooh to you, Wilder!
