I have been a supporter of WV for more that 40 years. I know from work I have done for this and other charities that, in a world with so much suffering and pain, people want to be associated with success. These commercials do not do that. They are contrived and insensitive.

I can't remember another commercial for world vision. This conversation says a lot. I do think though, that if they demonstrated some successes that people would have confidence in donating. I don't think these ads will have much impact either way.

This is one of those "tough to call"..
For some -it will be viewed as innovative, intrusive, original. For others-overly commercial. Clearly, the marketing and creative team at/serving World Vision tested these prior...
For those viewers with a heart/empathy, I believe the true sense/meaning of these pieces will be conveyed. At least.they took a creative risk to stand out--which many are not these days.

Will be nonetheless interesting to see the effect once campaign has aired longer.

If for 15years you have been donating, these ads give a message of no impact for the money donated suggesting more money for no development which discourages more donations, hence less money generated, aleast they should mix development with suffering, to give a message of more money for the remaining suffering children, it would give more sense.
