Burger King, McDonalds? are you kidding me? who is the bright one that added that to the poll? Its been a few years since i lived in Holland but I remember Parkway used to be the best. But as far as chains are concerned Holland doesn't have it!!! In and out is the best and in Texas its Braums. If anyone get down to Houston look up Lankford Grocery. By far the best there is!!!

Dang Holland Sentinal, who puts McD's on a Best Burgers list, this thing is a mess, but at least the comments are entertaining. Stacie, here's a map of michigan http://img.lib.msu.edu/branches/map/MiJPEGs/mi1867l.jpg, If you click on it, you'll notice that Allegan isn't in the Holland Area (ottawa county), but it's in Allegan County. The names of towns can sometimes help you remember where they are. You'll get it next time! Also Jeb Scudder, if you left your neck of the woods more often than it took you to run out of a truckload of beer, you'd know prices are going up everywhere. Here's a basic article to help you understand next time you come into town for internet http://useconomy.about.com/od/inflationfaq/f/Why-Are-Food-Prices-So-High.htm. As for the actual question, I personally prefer a good Crazy Horse burger, but darn it if I don't stop in at Steak and Shake when I'm in a hurry.

In my opinion, Goog's is the best burger joint. Fresh 1/2 lb burgers cooked to order with a wide variety of toppings...crispy crinkle cut fries(which they did cut back on the size of the serving because people were complaining of too many fries) and the price is a real value.....Goog is a great guy...supports the local sports teams HHS and Hope and employs local kids. Downside: it's a very busy place and so sometimes you have to wait a bit! I've eaten there many times and have only heard great things from others who have eaten there as well. Not sure what's up with the comment from Jim Scudder....sounds a little petty and disgruntled. Just eat somewhere else.

Tommy's Corner Grill on Douglas Ave. are by far the best burgers in Holland! They are always fresh and the prices are more than fair. I can't believe they were'nt even on the list to choose from but all those stupid chain places were and every dime you spend there goes back to some coporate office who knows were. People in Holland should support their local buisnesses and run those chains right out of town.

Beechwood Inn with their new wood fired grill is tough to beat.

I agree Googs did have the best burger at one time, but I feel the quality is suffering from resting on earlier success, smaller portions on the fries and higher prices.

Who's to say? Actually I would say MY charcoal grilled burgers are rated right up there!

  • John - 11 years ago

Culvers has a great butter burger. Best I've had anywhere else. And I've eaten at In N Out in California.

Turks is a well kept secret. They are located on the north side of Holland in the Family Fare plaza. They have specials on Monday buy a burger at regular price and get the second on for $1.33. The "New Holland Burger" is my favorite. You can't beat the price special and the burgers are absolutely at the top of the list. Give em a try you will be pleasantly surprised and go back for another visit!!

I grew up in Holland but moved to Kansas aftet I graduated High School. Russ' Dutch Twin Burger is by far the most delicious hambuger created! Not to mention thier crispy delicious onion ring! Yay! I have to go there at least twice when I visit my parents- my wife, from Texas, for her it was love at first bite!

They sure do leave out alot of other Restaurants.......like Deano's 50's Diner in Allegan or The Blue Goose in Fennville

  • Russ Shilander - 11 years ago

I cant believe how many chain restaurants are options. Anyone can buy a chain and microwave a burger, should only ever include independent restaurants. Burger King hasn't made a hot burger since 1982!

  • Alex - 11 years ago

    Bring back Hot 'n Now!

  • Randy Morris - 11 years ago

Googs is by far the best around. But a close second woud be Russ'. I can't believe they are not on the list.
