I voted Celestia, not because of the Fanon version of her, I like that version of her
I voted based on her useless, and preachy show self.
Oh, and she had to banish her sister because she was too much of a pussy to do anything about it, no she had to wait 1000 years of her sister's potentially limited life to have her pupil, and her pupil's friends do something about it.
She tries to step in against Chrysalis, and get knocked to the ground in less than a minute. Some all powerful ruler when 6 young mares can out do ya.
Oh, and the fact she has to be called princess because hasbro wanted it to be more cutesy, because every little girls wants to be a princess... Bleh.... Well I guess that isn't Celestia's fault.
I don't think it's fair to say that all the votes against Celestia are due to the fanon surrounding her. I like Celestia because of the fandom. If I went by just the show where her country is constantly under siege by evil and she doesn't use her supposed god-like powers to even so much as help, the one time she did so she being a complete failure, then she would be worst pony.
Alright, I can understand why Celestia is getting voted so much. Come on guys, she really is nearly completely useless through the whole show and yet they want the audience to like her. Rainbow Dash and Trixie though....what the BUCK! Yeah, Rainbow Dash has an ego, but that's the thing that makes her an interesting character (and why she is best pony.) And Trixie isn't annoying. Her speech is awesome and she's so enjoyable.
Then again, it is the Internet. And someone is always gonna disagree with you.

You know you're right. That cherry-selling fuck from Putting Your Hoof Down is the worst. I'm changing my mind on his position relative to Gilda too. Gilda is a jerk with a short temper, but this cherry-selling douche is even meaner. He should be driven into the Everfree Forest and left for the monsters.

I'm saddened by the fact that so many people are voting for Celestia. She's gained such a bad image thanks to everyone's disable to disassociate fanon from canon, thus having so many people believe that she's some tyrant or troll, rather than just being a warm-hearted princess.
While I admit I have no opinion on BEST pony... worst pony is without a doubt Trixie. Definitely. I never liked her at all.

Interesting that this is how he treats someone who helped to save Ponyville (his home and place where he makes his livelihood) several times over... What an ingrate.

Worst character is definitely Gilda though; it's not even close.

I would be afraid of talking to Fluttershy. She could silently withdraw into herself, leaving me feeling awkward, just as easily as she could break down into hysterics and run away.

She is the one character in the entire show that bugs me to a large enough extent for her to become truly annoying after long exposures. The only character in the show that prevents me from enjoying an episode to an optimal degree.
I just feel like she is the character that was designed to ultimately appeal to the very youngest of viewers that the show may have come to receive. Her random nature, lack of sense or logic, and disobedience of physics in some cases, seem to me to be appealing to those who wish to believe that everything is possible. I get how some people may be charmed by these characteristics, but they make me cringe in ridicule.
So yeah, without a shred of doubt...
