Every year we have been going to nana's house in Reno. We leave the kids with their nana and we go somewhere within driving distance for 3 days and then we append the rest of vacation with all the famoly

Took the kids to Texas on a long 23 hr drive .... on spring break took wife to Myrtle Beach on a weekend a month later more fun with wife, that 23 hr was a killer

I feel its ok to take a few day vacation every once in a while without the kids but, I would include my daughter in most of them I want her to experince new places just as I did when I was a kid with my parents. Great memories
