I'd only see it in theaters if my brony friends were with me. Otherwise, I'd just wait until the DVD/internet.

  • Blayze Kohime - 11 years ago

Who are these people who do not want a pony movie? They must be rooted out and burned in the name of Celestia.

  • wulfae - 11 years ago

I went to see Equestria girls in theatres, and there were a bunch of adults in there from what we later learned was a facebook meetup. And besides them laughing really hard at the jokes and talking and laughing before the film started, they were fine.

I saw one commenter say that they didn't go see it because it was 'for kids', and while that is true, it doesn't stop adults from seeing Disney films. The difference is that this is strictly 'for little girls'. Parents with kids should be respectful of grown men seeing a film aimed at *both* demographics, as long as the Bronies in the audience are respectful of the film.

In my experience, the Bronies were.

I would be much more interested in a Pony film than the EqG film, because the EqG film was pretty bad. It was obvious they were trying to make something beyond 'make this a toy commercial so we can compete with Monster High', but as a film, it kind of sucked. I don't blame the production team, there were many elements in there that they hoped to develop further that got shunted aside for that ridiculous high school story line, but... I would just reference 'The Art of the Dress', which is so true about dealing with clients.

"He can't be standing on the couch now, that's too dangerous? You realise he's standing on the couch throughout half of this episode, right? And that it was boarded that way, and you okayed it? You want us to change *all that* animation?? Is it really dangerous????"

  • bulma - 11 years ago

I have chosen Other option because I am realistic. If there is a pony movie it won't be shown in my country :( as EqG isn't either

  • Kyouhen - 11 years ago

I wouldn't see it in theatres for the same reason I didn't see EqG in theatres, and that's the fact that ultimately MLP is still targeting children. I've heard more people than I care for say that they didn't want to take their kids to the theatre to see EqG because of the number of adult men kicking around there, and I don't want to be one of them. The theatrical release of EqG was for the kids, so I'll let them have their fun in the theatres and pick it up on DVD for myself. :3

  • richfiles - 11 years ago

    Another insufficient poll...

What about the option: "I'd love to watch a pony movie in the theater, so long as they have it in more theaters. I missed EqG because it didn't play locally, but would have gone if it had."

  • Chad - 11 years ago

@Ashen I chose option 1, but only because option 2 required that I went to see EQG, which I did not, and I figured the "Yes" votes would be more representative than "Other". Also, a person calling people names for disliking something while at the same time advocating open-mindedness seems pretty hypocritical.

  • Angel - 11 years ago

Other, because I would go if it would be in a movie theater where I live. With EQG, it was only in the US, not in the EU

  • flutter_DIE - 11 years ago

I chose "Other Explain", because it doesn't matter what's in the movie as long as it's good.

  • henkersjunge - 11 years ago

Id go, if it would be released in the Original Dub in my Country. Wouldnt buy a ticket to fly to the US only to watch the movie

  • casimir - 11 years ago

ill go if it plays for more than one time a day in a theater near me. for me equestria girls was only showing the next town over only in one theater and only once a day in the middle of the day i just couldn't make the time for the drive and the movie

  • Robotnikis Prime - 11 years ago

I'd go if it was actually playing in a theater near me and not like 20+ miles away.

  • tupek - 11 years ago

Obviously, for me, a movie with ponies. They are cuter than their human counterpart. Wainbow Dash

  • mouthofxenu - 11 years ago

I have not seen Equestria Girls yet because I'm waiting for it to come out on DVD. I missed the opportunity to see it in theaters due to having no convenient theater to see it in. However, I would see an all-pony MLP movie in theaters given the chance.

  • Commissar - 11 years ago

Other: Rather wait for a DVD release and watch it alone because watching a movie with other bronies is rather unpleasant. I don't know why they are compelled to insert their commentary every 30 seconds...

  • JeffKingofGravy - 11 years ago

I would TOTALLY go see it, but I did not get to go see EQG because it didn't come to any nearby theaters. Otherwise, I'd have been all over it.

  • Cirape - 11 years ago

I'd go if it actually opened up in my town B/

  • DiscoDancing - 11 years ago

I'd go, but only if the movie wasn't dubbed like all the other kids' movies in my country.

  • Frith - 11 years ago

I'd go, if only for the thrill of watching MLP:FIM on a big screen with big sound. I saw EqG in the cinema for that reason. Then I saw it two more times in the cinema because it's good. 8^D

  • Flutterbrony - 11 years ago

I would go to a pony movie. I would have gone to Equestria Girls if there had been one closer than 400 miles away. There needs to be an option for this pole which says "I would go to a pony movie and would have gone to Equestria Girls if I had been able"

  • Ashen - 11 years ago

Really? Only if it was ponies? You people are stupid. I'm sorry, but you are. If you don't like everything, then why are you here? Gtfo, and open your mind a little. You'd be surprised at how many people I've seen hate on EQG. It's disappointing. I'm almost sure you only like the damn show because it's different and/or the fan-base Is actually gaining media attention.

"Oh, a show about colorful cartoon ponies! I bet I'll be different if I like this! I'll definitely get attention if I associate myself with these people! Humanized ponies? Nah, it's too much like any other cartoon out there. Besides, who would pay attention to someone who watches that stuff."

Go ahead, rage. You can't deny the truth! Graaah!

  • Merp - 11 years ago

Made for TV movie would be cheaper for everyone involved.

  • Toma - 11 years ago

It would hit my country about a year after premier, so I'd just leech it off the internets (YARR).

  • Chris - 11 years ago

I'd go and take my kids. I would have gone to Equestria girls too, but it wasn't playing near me. Lacking that option, I just picked "I'd go only if it was ponies".

  • SciFiBrony - 11 years ago

I would only if there were showings in the area of me or a friend and the showings weren't ONLY at 10 AM.

  • radioactivekritten - 11 years ago

I would go if the showings weren't at 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.

  • jordipien - 11 years ago

I would go and also would have gone to EG, if the theaters in my country showed it

  • Ed Thorpe - 11 years ago

I went for other. Why? Because it depends on what the movie is like. If it be anther 60 min tv quality, budgeted, animate mega episode type of movie like EqG was then i more wait to watch it on the internet or whatever but if it was a 90 min movie quality, budgeted, animate made movie, i may give it a shot at the Cinerama.

  • shadeofdeath - 11 years ago

I wouldn't go to any in theaters. Not because I would be embarrassed, but because I've basically sworn off theaters. They're not cheap relatively speaking (just a ticket is usually what, $9 or something?), you either have to sneak in or buy overpriced food, and the big reason is that watching movies in theaters makes me develop a headache more often than not.

So yeah, I haven't been to the theater since X-Men 2 I think? That was a decade ago.

I do miss the Loganberry drink. It always makes me think the drink was named after Wolverine too XD

  • Calmevir - 11 years ago

I think it's become rather clear from these comments that this poll needs an "I'd go, and would've gone to see Equestria Girls too but couldn't" option. Like this, the only thing I could choose was "Other". I imagine that's the case for most "Others".

  • David - 11 years ago

I would have actually gone regardless. Maybe that should be an option here.

  • Jeff - 11 years ago

Other. I'd totally go and wanted to go see Equestria girls as well, but had last minute wrenches thrown in my plans.

  • Aczom2 - 11 years ago

I wish I could pick the second option, but Australia didn't have any cinemas screening Equestria Girls.
In fact, everytime something really awesome happens (Bronycon, Hasbro at Comic-con, those season 2 walmart posters from a while back) I just have to watch from the other side of the world and cry.

*ahem* So yeah, I'd love a pony movie, and I liked Equestria Girls! I kinda think having a second MLP movie without actually having ponies would be pretty stupid though.

  • pepperpunk - 11 years ago

Other - Liked Equestria Girls, wanted to see it in the cinema, but it wasn't airing in my country anywhere near me. Also want to see a pony movie, obviously, and would go see that. :)

  • Dave O - 11 years ago

I'd go if there were an evening showing. I love an enthusiastic audience, but after one too many Pixar matinees, I need to keep away from an overabundance of rude and noisy kids, and I'm not inclined to think that little girls have better manners on average.

  • Andrew Silver - 11 years ago

I would go, but... I have 2 things stopping me.
I need to get past the temporary embarrassment, and after that, I would need to find somewhere where it is being shown in Australia, and it is going to be hard to find somewhere where it is. I have no choice but to wait for it to come to DVD/Blu-Ray/Internet...

  • TexasUberAlles - 11 years ago

    FIVE TIMES

I WOULD SEE IT FIVE TIMES

  • Tony Yotes - 11 years ago

Wanted to see EQG, brony friends too far away, didn't wanna awkwardly go alone.
If I had friends nearby I would TOTALLY go see a pony movie.

  • Kayla - 11 years ago

I chose Other, because I really wanted to see Equestria Girls but it wasn't showing anywhere near me, and I would totally go see a pony movie if it was close enough to get to.

  • TheInvincible - 11 years ago

    Reason I said Other:

I would go to see a pony movie with actual ponies, AND I wanted to go see Equestria Girls too, but there wasn't a gotdang theater in this whole area that was actually showing it! Thanks a lot, limited theater release!

  • lordelliott - 11 years ago

I voted "I'd go, and went to see Equestria Girls too" because I would have gone to see EqG, but it wasn't showing in my state or anywhere nearby.

  • LittleshyFiM - 11 years ago

Personally I hope we never see an Equestria Girls movie again, but a movie where they remain ponies would be beyond awesome!

  • nope - 11 years ago

EQG was a shit movie that should never have happened. Now can we just forget about it already?

  • Thekid20x6 - 11 years ago

Id go see the movie if it was in my area. I would have gone to see Equestria Girls but it wasn't in my area and i would have had to drive a long distance to see that movie. If Hasbro makes the movie more accessible to me to go to it then I'll go to it, if not ill just wait for the DVD.

  • john nguyen - 11 years ago

I would go if i had the money and always buy the dvd

  • TheAlmightyMexican - 11 years ago

I didn't like Equestria Girls, and I thought season 3 was the weakest season thus far, so I would not watch a pony movie in theaters unless I see the quality improve.

  • Corral - 11 years ago

II would like to go (and wanted to go see EQG) but, I may not get the chance to. Or have no way to get to the theater.

  • Goblin Scribe - 11 years ago

I saw EqG and would see a pony movie gladly, but EqD might want to broaden the option I picked to "I would watch the movie either way." After all, not everyone could see EqG, but they may have wanted to.

  • Triximancer - 11 years ago

I don't have anything against Equestria Girls and will watch it when it comes out in a non-camrip version, but it's not something that could make me (A travel to a distant theater if it has the same release pattern as EG (in my case Evansville IN which is half a state away) and (B risk the embarrassment of being around little girls and their parents and/or bronies hooting ridiculously at the screen. I would put up with both to see a legit pony movie though. Probably.

  • HydrusBeta - 11 years ago

I'd go, and I went to see Equestria Girls too (and loved it!). The only downside to a pony movie is that DHX would have to split its resources between the movie and the TV series, which could mean another short season, or at least a delay in its release. I might actually prefer no movie, if it meant more TV episodes.

  • Amek - 11 years ago

The same as @RFpones, I'd go even for EQG, but my country seems to be too far from civilization :/

  • BeefWellington - 11 years ago

I'd go but I'd be embarrassed by the other ponybros in the theatre shouting and shit. There's like 12 theaters where I live and not one aired Equestria Girls. 2-D g-rated movies don't do well anyhow. The odds of a pony movie are 1 in 8192.

  • Tim Fortune - 11 years ago

I'm curious to hear the explanation from the 3 who say that they don't want a Pony movie.

  • RFpones - 11 years ago

I'd likely go if there was a pony movie; and I probably would have gone to 'Equestria Girls' if it had been available in my country. But sadly, it was not to be.
