Rate hike affects us snowbirds who pay for 12 months and are usually there for 6 months or less.
We recycle and have only a small amount of garbage, about 1/4 of the container. Seniors eat out a lot and do not generate a large amount of garbage. Big bulky containers are a hassle. We are 79 years old.

64 gallon cans are too unwieldy for senior citizens such as myself. 64 gallon cans are unwieldy for folks with disabilities. 64 gallon cans do not fit into many areas where clean up is being processed. I have strong, wheeled cans that are in top condition and wish I could still use them.

I understand that the trucks are equipped with mechanics that pick up the 64 gallon cans. Old ladies do not have the strength that the truck's mechanics have. /barbara hoelscher, age 71.
