Running work in progress by my research partner or my own in-house editor always helps me to see where I'm going off the rails, or where the train is headed. My research partner and I often talk ideas through over Skype, go away and write in private and then come back together once we've read each others' work. I think it's a long process, but I sincerely believe that we are better together than alone.
