Gosh, every character's parents are such an intriguing mystery! I wish we had a parents episode, maybe in the style of the Cutie Mark Chronicles, for all of them.

I really feel like Spike should of been part of this poll. He's a main character that's just as important as important as Twilight and her friends, not to mention the fact that he's the one that showed the most interest in finding out his origins. There so many things left unanswered concerning his parents and birthplace that it would make a wonderful episode. It's just really sad to see that he didn't make it in this poll when he deserves to.

I voted for Applejack's parents! How they've been hinted to have passed away *coughapplefamilyreunioncough* has made me curious what happened and it has the most episode potential out all of them.
I would love to know about Fluttershy, Scootaloo and Spike's parents too.
And for those who says Applejack's parents and Celestia's/Luna's parents is impossible to include: Ever heard of 'flashbacks'? There's not even hints of the princesses' parents, we don't know if they're dead even though they probably are. But I'm sure a flashback of the Apple parents is more than possible, after all it has the potential by now.

I could see Pinkie Pie's parents as being these totally serious business ponies and there would be an episode about how they come to town and try to boring-ify Pinkie. And by the end of the episode Pinkie's parents would learn that they can't force their daughter into being the way they want her to be and they let her be her crazy spunky awesome self.
LOL! Even Trixie is beating out Rarity's parents! Rarity's parents were great, but in the 'we'll drop by when your parents are out' kind of way. I voted Celestia/Luna. Now _that_ could be backstory!

Heck, the fact that he's a dragon, raised by ponies, and we still have no idea where Celestia got his egg from or what happened to his parents, would make a good tv special in its own right. And he actually showed interest in finding them (yet the writers didn't give us a real conclusion).
Also who's the pony who raised him? Celestia (though when would a princess have time to raise a kid)? Twilight (too young at the time, but a line in Dragon Quest implies she may have been) ? Twilight's mom (ya never know)? Or perhaps celestia had some nurses take care of him, and in her spare time taught him how to send letters,

And when I say wealthy, I don't just mean rich. I mean Richie Rich rich. I mean a bank account somewhere between Bruce Wayne and Scrooge McDuck. ^_^

There are many interesting variants, but I choose Fluttershy. She is the only one of Mane6, whose family is a secret to us. We even saw Dashie's dad/brother, but no information at all about parents (or any other relatives) of miss Shy.

A) Assuming we will only see them via flashbacks or photos, I chose AJ's parents. Compared to the rest of the characters on the list, AJ's thoughts regarding her parents passing would seem to be the most heartfelt and interesting concept for a potential episode.
B) I agree that Spike should have been on the list as well. After all, he is the only character so far who has even expressed the slightest interest in uncovering the truth behind his origins.
C) Are people still referring to Applejack as a background pony? According to the FiM wiki, she has appeared in more episodes than any other character on the show (including Twilight) -_-

Wow, Seth. Every main character but. It would be a real stretch for you to make it clearer that you think absolutely nothing of Spike. You're not even being a pony-supremacy advocate anymore, you're just being stupid, announcing to the majority of the fandom that you don't even interpret him as part of the cast. If I could, I would happily spit on this poll and walk away satisfied. I normally wouldn't suggest such a rude action, but it would be appropriate in this case ... In addition to the simple, obvious fact that he's a main character, his origin story could easily be far more fascinating and compelling than that of anyone else: an orphaned dragon raised by ponies, for Pete's sake! The very concept is loads more interesting and subtly tragic than anything that might be in Scootaloo or Trixie's past. Honestly, this fandom is all but CONDITIONING me to hate those ponies. It'll never happen, but you, Seth, have been doing a very good job of putting me in that frame of mind.

I'd rather like to see Chrysalis' parents, I bet they're not going to be too proud of how their little Princess turned into such a monstrous matriarch, providing of course they too are not evil.
Well, I think everybody is voting for Celestia/Luna not necessarily because of the Luna (though that's certain to be a contributing factor), but because the mystery behind the Princess Godesses/Alicorns and their origins sounds far more intriguing than some normal ponies' parents.

I'd love an episode focussing on the Apple siblings and their parents, like how and when they died and some flashbacks. The episode could be about how to deal with the loss of loved ones or something like that. But since it's a kids show, I doubt that that will ever happen.

AJ's parents were confirmed dead (Apple Family Reunion, by storyboard artist Sabrina Alberghetti) , so if we saw them it'd have to be a flashback or a photo, and that would be friggin depressing.
I want Scootaloo's parents shown mostly to stop all the mean fan fics about her.

I suppose Luna will win this poll... But I think that is the dumbest option. If they bring in Celestia's and Luna's parents then it really takes the sisters down a notch as demi-goddess rulers of Equestria. And it isn't going to be Fausticorn as their mother. I like that fanon, and I don't want the canon messing with it, so I hope their parents are never mentioned in the show...EVER.
I'm not too big on the whole parental matter, but I'm deciding on AJ, FS or Scoots, since they really don't have anything established about their parents, as opposed to the other main characters.
But if they had AJ parents in an episode, they'd probably appear in flash backs or old photos, and never have their fate told directly to the audience.

Spike really should have been an option. He was so depressed about not knowing where he came from and went on a big journey to find out, only for the question to be forgotten by the end. There are so many possibilities for Spike's parents, and I really wish the show would reveal them at some point. Maybe they can show that not all other dragons are jerks. Maybe...
