Anyway, I simply love the RD's Cloud Palace, but Sweet Apple Acres just seems so full of life that I can't miss it.

I would love to live in any of the places listed - except, perhaps, Pinkie's place. Living over a sweets shop would make for an easy commute, but I wouldn't want to live where I work - unless I owned the place, like Rarity. However, it would present problems, such as ponies stopping by at all hours hoping to have a button sewn on, or a tear mended. Fluttershy's cottage looks lovely, although that's too many animals. Good for a visit, but not to live. Sweet Apple Acres would be nice, too. I lived on a farm when I was young, but it's a lot of work. That leaves Rainbow Dash and Twilight. Both, lovely places, but my love of books manages to surpass, if only barely, my love of flying. Now - if I could have a library on a cloud - !

Really, when you (over) analyze it you see that:
Pinkie Pie's basically just got a small room upstairs in a store (that's not exactly ideal)
Same thing for Rarity really if she really does live in the boutique (but It'd be better than renting & it's presumably bigger that pinkie's room)
Twilight is sort of the opposite, she's supposed to be living in a tree library but it feels more like she's living in a Tree fulla books... that moonlights as a public library occasionally. I love it's architecture though. (and the books!)
Fluttershy's cottage seems quaint, and living right next to a huge cursed forest has gotta run down the property value.
Applejack's definitely got the most land, and a Farm seems like a rather nice rustic choice.
and RD Fanboys, we know next to nothing about Dash's house "cloud palace could just as easily be "cloud apartment complex" but heck if it's rent controlled and water's included I'd live in Cloudpartment complex.

Sugar Cube corner is clearly the best! It's brimming with all you can eat SWEETS!!!!
My favorite is Twilight's house. A nice rustic wooden house, inside an actual tree. I think my second favorite would be either Pinkie's, Rainbow's or Fluttershy's. But all houses are nice their own way.

Twilight easily has the best house. Cutting the wood from the tree only to fill it right back in with books and furniture. Talk about efficiency!

Y'all crazy. How can Sweet Apple Acres NOT be winning? For one, you get MILES of land filled with food (granted, most of that will be sold for the upkeep of the land, but still), two, it's country--meaning comfy and cozy---just think of the homemade food! And three, CIDER. I rest my case.
Dash's house is cool, but it's kinda secluded. but AJ's place is where it's at.

Twilight library because it would be a nice way to meet strangers yet sorta quiet with nice decor. Plus if you need to look something up, its all there.
Erik: I don't think the exact location of Rainbow's house has ever been established. But, when it's been shown (in all it's palatial glory), it's clearly on its own above a secluded hillside, not a part of Cloudsdale. One would presume, since she does weather work for Ponyville, practices all her stunts in the skies above Ponyville and spends most of her time hanging out with her friends in Ponyville that her home is on the outskirts of Filly Delphia. Wait, no- that can't be right.
Isn't Rainbows house in Cloudsdale? And isn't Cloudsdale more like a city made of clouds, not a palace? :P

See the way I see it:
Pinkie - Rented room above a shop. Constant noise below and too many people around. Nice smell though.
Twilight - Public Library. Enough said.
AJ - Nice place, plenty of room outside. Somewhat secluded. Downsides being the animal smell and sucks for anyone with hay fever ;)
RD - Looks great outside from a distance. Boring as sin from the inside. Being able to shape it as you like would be nifty though.
Rarity - Lives above? her own clothes shop. Modern establishment with plenty of decorations and colour and can have as much privacy as she likes (since she is the owner).
Fluttershy - The stink would be terrible.
I'd go with Rarity's Flutter or AJ. Rainbow's would be way down there :P This is based on if they remained as they were in the show. Getting rid of the crazy animals in Fluttershy's cottage would instantly make it my favourite. It's cozy and has a nice location.

Golden Oaks. As said, it has a laboratory, books, and Twilight Sparkle. Who could ask for more?
I chose the Golden Oak library, for the BOOKS!, balconies, quiet, Twilight Sparkle, ornate windows, cool factor (it's a living tree) and the laboratory in the basement. Rainbow Dash's cloud house has a high cool factor but unless I'm winged, I'm going to fall right through the floor. I like animals, but there quite a few at Fluttershy's, it must be a full time job cleaning up the droppings. Sugarcube corner: must be noisy and I'll get fat. Sweet Apple Acres: haven't seen much of the house... can I have a pet horse? Oh wait. 9_9 Carousel Boutique: another busy business, and I'd be in the way.
