This could the 'nail in the coffin' so to speak for Canada Post. How does it intend to compete with UPS and Purolater? Will they be able to continue to deliver packages directly to people's homes?
On the upside; the postal workers will no longer have to carry ridiculous amounts of junk mail that in our house anyways, go directly into the recycling bin!

We've been getting our mail delivered to a community mail box for 13 years and loving it. Much better than door to door as we don't need someone to come to our house just for the mail when we are away. As for the boo birds, you sure would be screaming if the Government had to raise your taxes to cover the cost of retaining mail delivery as is.

I agree with Heather Baird. What about the elderly who can't walk to a community mailbox. What are we supposed to do? All Canada Post can think about is the bottom line and not about the reason their department was created for in the first place.

What about the elderly and the sick??? My parents and in-laws are elderly and a couple of them are sick. In this weather to be expected to get to a community mailbox...ridiculous! BOOO Canada Post!
