I just studied every costume VERY closely to give a fair vote. Applejack wins it! Don't worry Twilight; you're still my favorite pony, Applejack just had the best costume that's all.

@Charles: I'm a bit confused about what you're talking about. But I will, it's not up to them who my favorite will be. It will always be Applejack! I'm pretty sure of it considering how long she's been my favorite, the more time passes the more likely is it to keep the favorite (that's how it is always for me is what I mean). And Rarity is likely to keep being second.
@MarenCecilie: Thing with Rarity is that season ONE Rarity is awesome. whereas seasons 2 and 3 Rarity is kind of whiny, helpless and obnoxious. She received a complete character re-write after season 1, and anyone who started watching in later seasons saw obnoxious Rarity before awesome Rarity. Original Rarity was the calm, collected one. Maybe a little older and wiser, and she even mocked Twilight for overreacting to things once or twice then dealt with them. The whole premise of Rarity's character is "kidnapped into slavery and facing possible torture starvation and death? No problem. I will face it with elegance and dignity. OMG My hair is out of place it's a tragedy!!!" Faust knew what she was doing, but I think Thiessen simply didn't understand the character, and is seasons 2 and 3 all we got was the overreaction Rarity without the calm, smart and collected Rarity to make it funny. Consequently, a lot of people who came in late don't understand why she' funny and awesome. Forgive their ignorance.
Rarity's costume contains way too much bling. TS, RD and AJ are the real pro's with body armor, goggles, helm, and ski-mask.
Since Rarity is winning this, Applejack's got to win the best power.
*sighs* This fandom is really starting to make me feel depressed. I miss when ponies made me happy, BEFORE I finally got the internet last year. Maybe it's time to cut and give up the internet. *sighs* I voted Applejack by the way, but it was really hard to choose between her and Rarity. But since AJ's so underrated my vote went to her, Rarity is still my second favorite in general though so at least I'm happy she gets a lot of love. Hope it's Applejack's turn to get that soon, I'm a bit tired of constantly being attacked by haters or people offending me when I express what I love about her. Just hope someday it'll stop! Sure I could take revenge on them, but it's not really my style.
Yes i voted for Rarity, and she is my favorite, but i voted not on the basis of me liking her (Well maybe a little bit, because everyone is bound to see things he likes in a more favorable light), but i just really liked her costume. =C Heck, i said in my first post Twie and RD would share my second place, and they are place 3 and 6 in my personal favorite pony poll. And yes, maybe im spoiled by the Rarity-wins-all-polls trend, but it really feels good after all the time she was always at the bottom together with Applejack. Even though i feel bad that Apples did not rise in popularity like Rarity seemed to (She is my second favorite after all), and i really hope she will also get her time to shine in the furure, i feel really happy for Rares.
Obsidian Sky has their favorites leading, how spoiled. I look forward to the day I can know the feeling of being spoiled (must be nice), but doubt the day will never come.

I really hate the polls here. I can never agree with the results and my favorite never wins.
I don't quite understand the love for Rarity's outfit, to me it looks as bland as Fluttershy's or Pinkies.
Rainbow Dash's is completely badass, I thought hers would at least be second. I didn't even think Rarity's would even be on the podium.
Any poll involving rarity and outfits can only end in one way.

I believe that a lot of the Rarity and Twilight votes is only because people are obsessed with their voice actresses.

People! Rarity and Twilight looked satirical-grade RIDICULOUS and I'm almost certain it was done on purpose! We're really gonna give them best costume?
MM - Correction: Humdrum is just a sidekick. It sucks that Spike always gets the fewest votes, but at least this time it makes sense; Humdrum was specifically conceived as a simple and unflattering character, and his costume reflects that.
They should have put Luna on this poll even though she was pony not appearing in this film.
Applejack had the best costume AND power. Pinkie and Rarity is tied for second. Fluttershy was horrible.

the only one I don't think is overtly obvious is Twilight... Iceman? she seemed to be working with Ice for the most part.
I feel most partial to Rarity's power here. It fit her really well and honestly here power came across as far more useful than most of the others. Applejack's power was just sort of sad and I felt like they kind of short-hoof'd her.
Actually, Applejack is the underdog. She's the most underrated, sad but true. As for the poll, I have problems choosing between Applejack, Rarity and Pinkie Pie. If I only could vote three times. What to do, what to do.
PurpleFirefly: Im a big Rarity fan, and somehow it is hardwired in my brain that she is the underdog, i don't know if that is still true or not, but that fact makes me sometimes a little more defensive of her then i should, i guess, but i still would never try to force other people to like her, but i will still debate in her favour if i feel that she is treated in a manner i find unfair. I think that every of the Main6 is great and everybody has the right to like or not like the ponies he wants. Im sorry what happened to you and hope you won't hold it against other fans of Rarity. In fact i feel bad now for my other comment in this poll, im not sure anymore if it wasn't too aggressive.
I liked Twi's heroine mane style and her costume, but what really sold it to me were those huge googles on her face.
PurpleFirefly - as long as Rara is my favourite, I can't not agree with You. And they can be even worse if you tell them Rarity is your fav too. But what to expect, if half of people if I tell my fav pone, they greet me with "I don't like her, she is the worst". Whole fandom is one big hate war. RD fans are in most cases cunts, AJ fans are kinda like Rara fans (background pony crusaders), FS - try tell them you don't seem her the most cute creature of all time, TS fans have never-ending butthurt, PP - I think they are good homies. This is one of reason I never wanted really bound myself with fandom. They are on one side one of most self giving fandom I ever saw, but on other hand they are like /r/-v.little.
I liked Dashie's costume the most, fits her so much, second Fluttershy's and third Pinkie Pie. Rarity's was a lil over the top IMHO, same with Twilight's
Although I think Rarity deserves to win I still can't stand a lot of her fans. They're too ignorant and selfish. She has my second favorite costume, but it doesn't change my view on her fans. Some of them gave me threats for not having her first favorite and tried to force me to favor her. I know not all her fans are like that and I do know some really nice Rarity fans, but most of those I've come across are jerks.
What... just because Rarity gets some attention and love after those years she has been at the bottom of the popularity polls she is overrated? I'd rather say she deserves it. So would for example Applejack, yes, but don't make it Rares fault that Applejack does not get the attention she should get. Just because you don't like a popular character it does not make her overrated.
And i saw no proof so far that Rarity skyrocketed in popularity, Maybe she was just that high up in these polls because she actually performed good, or people really like her costume, or her voice, how about that? I still see many more Twilight, RD and Flutterart on Equestria Daily, and there is nothing wrong with that, if you think your favorite gets too few art, start drawing!
Maybe you guys should wait for the new Brony census in january until you declare her "overrated".
Applejack's was my favorite by far. I also loved Rarity's.
Rarity is basically a purple green lantern, and I don't like green lantern's powers or anything.
I liked Dash because there are fewer heroes with weather control, her costume is cool, plus it matches her power, and the mane style for her during the episode was cool, and different. I think Twi was the only other with a more different mane style, but I'm not a fan of her costume. Dash also had the amulet, which made her eyes glow, and went with her costume too.
Applejack's were the most proper and well designed while the others looked either messed up or too simple. This surprised me. So yeah, my vote goes to Applejack.
Rarity is overrated. I have no idea how people can say she's underrated. I mean: She wins almost every poll, she has the second most fanart after Fluttershy and has a lot of fans. Either her fans is obsessed with her or completely blind. Wait, blind? How do you type? Rarity is far from underrated, people saying otherwise are selfish and spoiled. How much do you want? Seriously?
Rarity hands down for me. I also really liked Pinkie's costume and her high speed antics. I'm glad Rarity is finally getting some positive attention.
Actually, you've got a point. Fluttershy has very few votes and she's even more overrated than Rarity. Still don't quite believe anything else than it being just another popularity poll, but it looks like there's a slight chance you're right. We'll see.
Rarity is popular. She's the one I see most positive conversations about. She used to be underrated, but for some reason have gotten overrated. I like how it's with Pinkie, she's neither over- or underrated. They should all be like that.

Rarity's looked like they had ran out of ideas and randomly threw gems for more details. It doesn't look nice! Spike and Fluttershy's as well as the Mane-iac's were too simple. Pinkie too kind of, but she just pulled it off better. It was hard to choose between Applejack, Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash because they're tied for me. But I went with Applejack because I'm sure this is only going to turn out just another popularity poll, maybe. Poor AJ, it never made sense how little love she gets.
I loved Rarity's costume AND her superpower. It was very elegant looking too.
Spike is just a sidekick, he doesn't have any super powers, that's why no one's voting for him.
I found Raritys costume to be the most awesome, it was really elegant, just like her, had a really nice colour scheme and that mask just looked sweet. Twie and Dash are both second place for me though.
