Male Feminist - Is That A Thing?

    Thanks for the shout-out, Ramya.

As far as I am concerned I do not care so much about the label 'feminist' and whether or not I am eligible to be called the same as a man. If you ask me, every struggle for rights can be viewed from two perspectives - the first as you eloquently put it, is from the perspective of the have-nots. The other of course, is from the perspective of those who are the haves. When it comes to power in society, the odds are stacked in favour of men. I believe that if you want to establish an equitable distribution, men have to accede a lot of their privileges as well. You simply cannot ignore the male voice in the feminist movement. Again I don't particularly care if I am considered a 'true feminist' or not. Consider me an ally if you want. That does not stop me from doing the work I do in support of an equal society. At the same time let's not look at who can be 'truly feminist' and who cannot. Let us focus instead on the good that we can do in our capacities.
