Jerry, your agenda is so obvious, transparent, and sad. Tried buying a team, and it can't perform to NFL playoff standards. Now tries to convince others that watering down the product is good for the NFL. Jerry, Jerrry, jer.....

Hmmm...the possibility of having a .500 team in the playoffs. I wonder who he might be talking about? That's the only way he'll ever get the Cowboys back in the playoffs.

I'm shocked that an nfl owner, billionaire would like his team to play another game and get more revenue... really news team, you publish this? Why not have all 16 conference teams make the playoffs and everyone gets a ribbon. We all know Jones is greedy and if he had his way, the cowboys, as sorry as they are, would have made the playoffs the last couple or so years. Check the poll merry, we do not want to water down the league so you can make more money. Thanks for letting us know where you stand, as though we don't know.... go nfl!

The older Jerry gets...the more like P.T. Barnum he becomes...

Well...Jerry; why not expand the playoffs to all 32 teams? - then Dallas can get in every year.

    Bad idea!! Really bad idea....

  • Ryan - 10 years ago

If Jerry Jones wants it, that pretty much proves it would be a stupid thing to do.

  • Becky - 10 years ago

The only reason Jerry Jones wants to expand it is because that is the only way the Dallas Cowboys can get in the playoffs.

  • David - 10 years ago

No comment. This one's too easy.

  • Edzee - 10 years ago

Sure Jerry, Why not count a 1-or-2-or-3-point loss as a win or a tie, then your CowPies would not be a 8-8 team every year. Are you stuck on stupid???? Maybe just fire the owner.

  • John McDonough - 10 years ago

Jerry is trying to overcome the low talent, chocking team that his General Manager has assembled.
Cowboys can expect to lookup at the NFC East for the next few years. Hey Americas team, enjoy another January off-season

  • John - 10 years ago

In the end, only two teams can make it to the "big game". There are enough play off spots now to give teams a "second chance". If the number of play off spots is further increased, where will it end? Do we keep increasing the number of play off spots every time some team owner wants to see his name up in lights? No system will ever be perfect, but changes which do not improve an imperfect system simply do football a dis-service.

  • DAVE - 10 years ago

sure jerry would that is the only way he can get the cowboys in to post season play
maybe all 32 teams the he will get in for sure.

  • sirfiver - 10 years ago

Jerry Jones would prefer to move to a playoff system where the regular season is irrelevant. Maybe he'd like to run it like T-ball for 7 y.o. kids... EVERYONE gets an award, there ARE no losers! As Romo stands on the podium to accept his Lombardi Trophy he could say: "This one's for Jerry!"

  • Dave Davis - 10 years ago

Sure Jerry wants more teams in the playoffs, that's the only way the Cowboys might get closer to playing one more game, especially with that GM they have.

  • Kathy - 10 years ago

Let's add some more weeks to football! If it means adding two teams to the Playoffs or a couple more games each season, I'm for it! Love Football! Need more!

  • John W. - 10 years ago

Jerry should shut his mouth and worry about trying to fix his own team rather than try to change the playoff structure to give his team a long shot of playing in January. Obviously he feels that this change is necessary to give his crappy cowboys a remote chance of getting back to the Super Bowl. The Cowboys have been expected to make the playoffs for the last several years and have come up short, only because of how bad they have played in crucial games. He should worry about managing his own team instead of trying to lobby to make unnecessary changes to the playoff system. Jerry...you suck! Quit your crying and sit back and enjoy the playoffs with the rest of us.

Jerry Jones' ability to run a football team, as opposed to simply making money, is a telling reason why the League SHOULD NOT take any advice on football he spouts.

  • ElJimbo - 10 years ago

And if that playoff scenario was active today his lowly Cowboys would be in it. That's all he wants, he doesn't care about the fans, he just wants playoff money and he knows his Cowboys are and will be a second tier team for the foreseeable future. It's the only way they'll get into the playoffs.

To have an 8-8 team get into the playoffs and get lucky and win the Super Bowl would be a joke.

  • Quin - 10 years ago

I voted to keep it the way it is and I AM a Cardinals fan.

  • Ben Bullock - 10 years ago

Jerry just smells the money. He should hire a general manager to run the team so they can get in the playoffs. From an Eagles fan.

  • earl - 10 years ago

jerry see green if his team make it.

  • Douggie - 10 years ago

With Jerry running the the Cowboys, unless they allow EVERY team in, the 'Boys will still be at home watching...

  • Lynn - 10 years ago

Geez, the guy can't even manage his own team. Please do not let him attempt to run the entire league.

  • Tom T - 10 years ago

Expand only if teams with 8-8 records are not allowed. Playoffs for winning trams only.

  • Bob Rittenhouse - 10 years ago

Jones is a huckster, just ask the people of Little Rock who know him best.

  • Brian - 10 years ago

If poor Jerry's team can't fill his stadium seats in the post season, he can always schedule some rock concerts or home & garden shows.

  • kevin - 10 years ago

of course he would say that ....it is the only way his POS team stand a chance of getting in to the playoff ....lol

  • Mike - 10 years ago

    Geeze... this isn't hockey!

  • dave t - 10 years ago

of course and if had the best record he would recoemmend we take it to 8, he's senile.

  • Matt - 10 years ago

I know that the majority disagree. Though I would be in favor of expanding the playoffs... but only if it's expanded to 14 teams. 16 teams and it would be just like the NHL & NBA.
