In my opinion Goldie Delicious is living proof of Pinkie being an Apple. Same curly hair, same Physics Breaking (pulls book from bottom without disturbing other books) also, she lives alot like I would expect Pinkie to when she gets old.
Yes ... and the fact that the relevant entry on BOTH records was smudged suggests possible conspiracy. Somepony doesn't want anypony to know something ... but why?
Both families having a smudge record is kinda suspicious. Maybe somebody wanted to hide something, or maybe they both had the same clumsy ancestor.
Where's the "It doesn't matter" option? I thought that was the moral...

Religious or an atheist it doesn't matter, in either scenario everyone should be related in this reality somehow in theory, so I would assume that this would also apply to their reality unless otherwise stated.

If Pinkie Pie is Applejack's 4th cousin twice removed by a 5th cousin then they are 8th degree relatives and about 0.4% of Pinkies genes are shared with Applejack.
The Apples are kinda like Genghis Khan. Everypony in Equestria is related to them in some way or another.
It would be obvious that Pinkie was looking at a scroll that had the genealogy of the PIE family, which happened to have Applesauce's name on it... Therefore, the Pie family is in fact related to the Apple family...
It is a conspiracy. Somepony blotted out the records for nefarious and devious purposes that may never be revealed... Until the apples visit the Pie Rock Farm... Then they will find out the dark secret...

The moral of the episode was that it didn't matter what was on the page - Pinkie is a part of the family in all the ways that matter.
I saw very subtle hints of Goldie Delicious being one of the missing links to Pinkie being related to the Apple Family. So yes, I do think she is an Apple.
Then again, maybe I'm overthinking things..
There are people I share blood with that I don't even speak to, and friends that are closer to me than my real siblings (of which I have 4 that I didn't grow up with). Just as home is where the heart is, your family are the people you care about most and those who care about you.
