Should Falcons trade up to draft Jadeveon Clowney?

IMO trading up for Clowney is a risky move. Not only did he seem to have motivation issues last season, the Falcons do not have the defensive talent to keep other teams from double teaming Clowney. The Falcons need so much help and the draft is so deep, I'd try and trade down to get extra picks.

I agree with Mr. Couch, other DE will be available for round 2. I have been a Falcon fan since the teams inception, and the Falcons have ruined more quarterbacks than I have fingers to count on. They are paying Ryan a $100 million contact and you want to protect that with a bargain basement Line. Come on Arthur and Thomas open your eyes, look at the history of teams that win the Super Bowl. It should be easier to build a defense than offense, and the O line was certainly Offensive last year, as a matter of fact the D line was offensive also.

Smitty, quit hiring your cronies and bring in some kick butt coaches. Vance Walker a good interior D Line guy was shipped off to Oakland and he showed more promise than Jerry or Peters ---- you didn't play the guy. One of the problems with Defense has been the first 4 years under VanGorder ( what a Jerk).

I think Clowney will be a good or great player in the NFL. However, we need too much help on the offensive line to give up draft picks for Clowney. There are other DE in the draft that are not as high profile that can fit the bill. Spread those draft picks for OL and DL help for next year. A little more depth in secondary would not hurt either.
